Yeah it’s the one big screen like Mercedes. The Mercedes software is amazing but I think the BMW approach looks awful and I believe its heavily touch based lack of physical controls)

The iDrive 8 software itself looks solid from the reviews I've seen. Bright graphics, snappy responsiveness, logically laid out, and customizable. My concerns are:

- The mondo dash looks more appropriate in an EV, less so in a driver's-oriented cockpit like an M car
- Loss of physical controls (HVAC and 1-8 hotkeys). I hate the Teslafication design movement.
- Gauge cluster looks too overdone with those hexagonal graphics. I wish they just recreated classic BMW circular orange gauges. Porsche really nails the 5-pod cluster with analog + digital blend
- Price will almost definitely go up for 2023, potentially by $4-5k. I doubt there will be any recourse for those who ordered 2022's and BMW couldn't fulfill them in time, other than the option to cancel or amend for 2023 build/price

I agree - to me it just looks odd for an M3/sportier car. Looks perfect for the i4, or even a 7 series. But an M3? Just seems out of place (versus the current set up, which I think looks stellar)

(She also said that corresponded to the week ending May 13; my calendar does not show 20 weeks prior to that in 2022, but who knows how BMW calculates these things... maybe it's a metric-vs-imperial week kind of thing.)

Week 1 begins Jan 3…they do not count the first non-full week of the year. If you use a crApple, their calendar has week numbers on the side next to Sunday…subtracting one from that will coincide with BMW build weeks.

So even though I advanced to 112 yesterday, my CA says I'm scheduled for the "week of May 23rd," which sounds to me like Week 23? (As of this past Monday, Genius told me Week 21, ending May 13). I also thought you progress to 112 typically only a couple of weeks before 150?

So, who the hell knows...
