Good morning.
Donington is still at Zeebrugge port. Hopefully getting some more of our Bimmerpost member cars! Can’t wait to see it start to sail.

my car just switched to in transit. I read the thread on tracking the car, the only way to find out your boat is by calling BMW genius?

My CA was saying how there is a backlog of cars at the US ports because there isn't enough trucks to transport them. But good news is it only causes a few days delay vs weeks or months. It's still crazy to me how people aren't fully working again this late into 2022.

Yes I saw it moored this morning. I have the site bookmarked and have been wearing out the refresh button!

Donington is in the lock.
I promise I will stop these constant updates once it gets out to sea.

To raise and lower boats and ships from one level of water to the next.
For instance, the water level on a local lake might be 950’ Mean Sea Level (950’ above sea level). The water level on an adjoining channel or river might be 925’ MSL. There is a “lock” that has gates on either side. Ship sails into the lock at a water level of 950’ MSL with exit gate closed. The entrance side gate is closed. The exit side gate is either slowly opened or water is pumped out allowing the water level in the lock to drop down to 925’ MSL. Ship sails out at 925’ MSL. Process is reversed to raise the ship from 925’ MSL to 950’ MSL. We occasionally go through a small lock in our family boat. The local lock only splits a difference of about 8’, so it is pretty small and can only fit about four 19-22’ boats comfortably.

In the last screen shot you can see four perpendicular fingers of water from the lock area. Two at one side, two at the other.
That is where the sliding gates are. Our local lock has overhead gates that swing up and down. So when you go under them there is a stream of water dripping on you and seaweed hanging off it.
