Hello all, I am prematurely starting my G82 M4 build thread as I just recently placed my order. My wife has nicknamed the car "Emmy" before it has even begun being built.

I plan to list everything from timeline to price to modlist with pictures of everything. It will serve as my personal reference for the car as well as an updated build thread on here.

Future mod list is below, please let me know if you see anything that would pose a problem or if you have any advice.

Quick background on me and previous cars I have owned (I have attached a picture of a few of the cars I have owned just in case anyone was interested)

-1993 jetta 2.0
-1993 gti vr6
-2001 e46 323ci
-2007 335i montego blue/coral red 6MT
-2007 525i daily
-1964 VW sandrail with 2.0 turbo ABA engine

I have always done my own work to my vehicles from oil changes to full air ride setups. However, I plan on doing little jobs to the G82 myself but leaving other things to reputable professionals.

I then went to pharmacy school and was out of the car game for awhile but always wanted an M car.

Now that I am done with school, I have saved money and decided on the G82 M4 6MT. (Spec list to follow)

MSRP- $89,395
Total out the door- $96,045

-Black Sapphire Metallic (BSM)
-Full Fiona Red interior
-Carbon fiber interior trim
-826M full back 19/20" wheels. Performance non-runflat tires
-Parking assistance package

Timeline
6/9/22: ordered car 2k deposit
6/18/22: order accepted by BMW status 112
6/28/22: status 150, VIN assigned
7/8/22: status 151, Exterior body assembly begins
7/8/22: status 152, in paint booth. About 6 hrs after 151
7/14/22: made it to the port (on my birthday!)

Future mod list (in approximate order I would like)

-XPEL stealth full PPF
-30-35% tint all around 50-70% windshield
-full ceramic coating including wheels/brakes/interior
-BMS clutch stop

-lower on AST springs
-15mm F+R spacers
-BMS or MST intake
-smoke front and rear reflectors
-if reflectors look like shit, IND paint matched fronts and honeycomb rears
-bimmercode

-carismo or euro active steering wheel (flat top and bottom, red stripe, red stitching, perf leather and carbon fiber)
-MP carbon shift knob
-MP door locks, valve stem caps, gas cap
-carbon door sills
-red engine caps

Unsure or undecided mods
-exhaust, midpipe? Resonator deletes? Muffler delete? Center exhaust diffuser?
-jb4
-CDV delete?
-euro active OLED tail lights

You'll have plenty of time to figure out your full mod list as you likely won't see the car for a good 6+ months.

Thanks! Yeah im definitely not expecting it until at least 6 months. But that definitely gives me the time to save up the money i need for down payment and mods

Exactly what I did. I had a ton of boxes sitting around here by the time the car finally landed at the dealership.

How were you able to configure the g82 m4 2023? I am not seeing it on the BMW site? Also does it have idrive8?

I did a paper order with the dealership, i hear it does have id8

Edit- it has since been confirmed that g80 will have id8 while g82 will have id7
