Sport Auto: Best Handling Car of 2021-2022
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series: 00:56,03 min Porsche 911 GT3: 00:56,43 min KTM X-Bow R: 00:57,16 min Chevrolett Corvette Stingray: 00:59,83 min BMW M4 Competition xDrive 01:00,07 min Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition: 01:00,53 min Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm: 01:01,03 min VW Golf R: 01:02,26 min Toyota GR Yaris: 01:03,31 min Faster than the track focused Giulia GTAm and Vantage F1 Edition They did complain that the car has lost some of the "wild" character compared to previous generation and feels like a more mature car and less playful. No mention of tires used, so most likely MPS4S

I would have expected it to be much faster than the Covette, as in a couple of seconds faster. I guess xDrive is not the solution for going fast around the track, only for races from the dig.

For the money it really is impressive. In Canada a Golf R is less than half the price as an M4 AWD.

You are comparing apples to oranges. You can't draw a conclusion on a car that wasn't even in the test.

The Corvette is a true sports car. You are not going to beat it in outright performance with a heavier front engine platform designed to also underpin a 320i. If they ran a RWD M4 Comp it wouldn't be that close.

From what I can see, the M4 and the Yaris are on PS4S and the Golf on PSC2, it makes a difference. With the same tires Yaris and Golf would be really close.
They complain about the loss of wildness on the M4, this is partially true, but if you want a car that performs well on the track you need grip and stability, the old Ms were probably more fun but less effective, you can't have both. You make a good lap time going forward, not sliding |

it always amazes me how fast these cars are and the fact you can just drive them to the local target lol

But on the flip side, are you losing a lot of pure driving joy by not having those compromises? Sort of like having a super fast EV, who cares if it goes 0-60 in 2.0 if it gets old after a week right? But that's a conversation for a different thread. Back to the topic, anyone else amazed at what VW is doing with the Golf R/GTI? And one more thing, I would really like to see times after a 30 minute track session. Like, is the performance degrading by a ton or by a little? The M4 is faster than the GTAm but what about after some time at the track, does the M4 pick up time or lose it?

Go Cups, Hoosiers, NT01 etc. Otherwise you won’t have much fun at the track and will curse wildly on the street.
