Anyone's CA giving them the runaround?
Hey G8x Community,
Current owner of an '18 F82 Comp and put my deposit down for a G80x here in NE FL back in early April. I put 5k down and was told that I was in 10th position and ETA to receive the car was 6 to 9 months. It is an individual color order so I understand that can add 2-3 months extra once allocation is confirmed. I'm at the 6-month mark, and I must say, my CA is totally disengaged with keeping me up to date, so I just reached out to him and he's telling me I'm now 8th in line. This is a preferred M dealership in FL so I have a very hard time believing I've only moved up 2 spots in 6 months. Any advice on how to proceed with the dealership or my uninvolved CA? |

I waited 10 mos for a G80 allocation.
Unfavorable news doesn't necessarily mean they are being dishonest.

Right, but only moving up 2 spots in 6 months seems questionable. At that rate, I'll be waiting 2 more years. If I was 2nd or 3rd in line, that shows significant progress but I'm not seeing really any progress.

Just because you are 10th, 8th or anything else, it doesn't matter.
He can decide to take an allocation he receives and use that for your individual (send to factory for approval) etc…. . He's probably just delaying it since individuals aren't popular for dealers since they have to use an allocation for a longer build (longer invoice time for them) instead of just giving it to a client who wants a standard build. |

And to add to my post, I was #8 for my individual and they pushed me to the next allocation and had my allocation 4 weeks later.
It all depends on the dealer. |

It took me 6 months to get my allocation and I was on 3 separate wait lists at one point. One dealer I was 4th in line when I originally placed my deposit with and I didn't move at all in the 6 month timeframe. One dealer I was 6th in line... within 2 months I was told I was all of a sudden 1st in line.... then it took another 4 months for me to finally get an allocation.
Point is, your best bet is to get on multiple lists. The frustrating part is you've already been waiting 6 months, but the good news is that production has seemed to be ramping up the past couple months with flurries of allocation drops. So you might have an easier time securing an allocation now by getting on some other lists.

Thanks for the feedback! Seems like almost every thread I follow, people are getting allocation after being on a waitlist for 3 months, so when it feels as if no progress is happening on my end, I have to raise the red flag. I guess my patience will continue!

I believe we have the same dealer, I have been on the G82C waitlist for 4 months. Only 3 people were ahead of me when I ordered, originally quoted a late Dec 22- Early Feb 23 delivery but am now being told mid summer 23.
Non-Individual color, did get carried away with options though |

I would speak with a general manager and see if a non refundable deposit would get to an allocation sooner.
