Talk me out of this M3 Touring

My dealer has a skyscraper-grey M3 Touring in stock. And will make me a good deal on it.
Am I crazy to be even considering getting it (in addition to my g80!) ??

In addition to? That requires a bit more explanation. Do you have a significant other who will be driving the car? And if so, do you love the G80 so much that you want to drive 99% of the same car just with more cargo room? Do you need that cargo room? Then.....sure. Go ahead.

Personally I like a little variety so I'd either swap your car for the Touring or if you need something more practical, get something more practical that's different. Maybe something a little off road capable, or a different manufacturer, or electric or whatever.

I'm just not into owning two of the same car at the same time. Not unless you're talking something that's the same car but separated by a generation or two so that they feel quite different and you use them for different things.

Not sure why you’d be contemplating keeping both a G80 and G81, but I can definitely say I’m thrilled with mine My F82 M4 has been great fun, but it’s making way for the new car.

Currently getting PPFed, but got to put 1000km on it in the first couple of days after I picked it up, can’t wait to put many more under the wheels!

Buy it!

Sad, but in the States we don’t get the wagon. Here for some reason, people prefer a big truck with big wheels and plastic balls hanging from the rear bumper.

Basically, you're right.
It's just that - I love my m3 and I love the way it looks, and that's the car I am taking to track etc.
But Touring has grown on me and it would then be a car for vacation trips etc., but with the same engine etc.

Finally, it's the hype thing - they are sought after, and people have to wait a year usually, and I could just get it so not an everyday opportunity. I don't know man, this is just stupid probably

Its a station wagon. That should be enough of a deterrent.

I love wagons and Europeans own wagons like we own trucks (Lao though I’ve never owned a truck…). I couldn’t see owning both but if the deal was ok, I would swap. And why not track the wagon just as you would with the sedan?

No particular (technical) point, well it does weigh a bit more but not substantially.
Visually/aesthetically, I prefer a sedan on track but that's just me.

Anyway, I am *not* taking the deal as it's admittedly kind of stupid.
Pity to pass on it since Tourings are very hot over here and everyone wants them.

It’s a station wagon.
There is no more prestige driving this hideous beast than my wife’s MDX.

Someone should drive it into a ditch and light it on fire, as a mercy.

I love wagons, but I wouldn't want one in addition to my G80. My wife drives a 21 X5 and it's perfect for everything that my G80 doesn't do well, like driving in deep snow and trips that involve a lot of boring highway driving, or inner city driving where the roads are particularly bad
