I'm running map3 on 93 and map4 on e30 daily. Running the beta maps which also have increased boost targets.

When i install the Jb4, i will be running map 5 with the correct mix of E85.

As long as you are using the correct octane, you can run any map as a daily driver. Just don't use a map higher than what's recommended for the octan you are using.

There is a reason why BMS does not recommend map 3 for 91 octane for example

Any estimates on how many hp and torque Map 3 adds with 93?

map 5 on a fully stock car made 609 whp, map 3 is 2 PSI less so somewhere in the high 500s.

note the BMS intake added 15whp on its own, consider getting it to get your car at 600 whp with map 3

Also, if it's possible now, can you take it somewhere so the maps can be dialed in or does it auto tune?

Map 0: Stock operation, JB4 disabled
Map 1: Default performance map, 3psi peak request over stock (suitable for all 91+ RM2 fuels)
Map 2: 4psi peak request over stock (91 -93 suggested)
Map 3: 22psi absolute boost target (93 - E30 suggested)
Map 4: 23psi absolute boost target (E30-E40 suggested)
Map 5: 25psi absolute boost target (E30-E40 suggested)
Map 6: User adjustable map. RPM1500 value of less than 5.7psi make entire map6 additive target based, value over 5.7psi make entire map6 absolute target based.
Map 7: water/meth progressive map -- under development
Map 8: Low boost / VALET map

You can run either map1 or map 2
What's adjustable in Map 6 and does it take someone licensed for JB or eek, anyone ?

Tuned power is the same for comp and MT, the difference untuned is only the boost target and you are overriding that.

Im also abit worried if the clutch will give out with so much power. My friend has more modes than me(soon). He said no issues he is over 600whp with dp, midpipe, intakes, map5 and few other mods

Is this also true if using map 1/2 on a manual car? Since those maps are "psi over stock" and not an absolute target like map 3-5 I was curious if map 1-2 on a manual car basically just brings you to comp power levels.

What Ethanol blends are you guys using with jb4? Currently mods are downpipes, valvetronic midpipe, bmc drop ins and flex fuel kit. I used E30 with VP but heard some people are using E35 -E40. Plannin on going to the dyno next week with a Ignite Red can.

Is there a way to open or close the valves in efficient mode? If so how?

I heard running the JB4 in efficient mode has been the best for maps but I want the valves open.

From the F chassis platform but it should operate the same on the G8x

Exhaust Valve Mode:
'***************************************

Toggle between flap open, flap closed, and OEM operation, by pressing the button for 2 seconds and letting go. The left blinker will flash for valve open, right blinker for valve closed, and both blinkers for OEM operation. The valve setting is persistent and will remain in effect until you change it. If you hold the button too long you'll jump in to the in dash menu system below

this is my first time really looking into a jb4, i got a m3 comp on the boat right now, it will be my daily driver. question i have is how safe is the jb4. i understand tuning is always playing with fire but i would only want enough power to break 10s in the quarter mile while keeping the engine safe. can someone shine a little light.

It's like any other tuning system, it's as safe or as dangerous as you want to run.

Question to those who run jb4.

When service comes, are you or planning to remove it or eff it and leave it in. With some of the rumors saying BMW knows you had a piggyback even if it was removed, what are your thoughts?
