2022 xDrive 1200 mile break in?

Are their going to be any additional break-in services completed for the xDrive cars, on the 1200mi break in? Will the transfer case fluid need to be changed, as well? Does this car even have a transfer case??

I just took mine in (and they couldn't complete it because there's a fluid shortage) but my understanding is that it's oil, trans fluid and differential fluid, plus some programming that they insist "unlocks" the car but I'm pretty sure it just tells the car to reset the service intervals.

Ok, good. I just wasnt sure if it included the transfer case, as well.

According to the technical manual in the stickied thread, transfer case is sealed.

Ah, ok, that makes sense. I hadn't read that far into it.

How many miles have you all had when taking your cars in? I'd assume it varies by dealer, but I wonder how much wiggle room there is below or above the 1,200 mile recommendation

Ive gone as early as 900 to as late as 1600... no issues with the dealer performing the process and getting paid by BMWNA.

900

And yes, it was only the engine oil, filter, and rear differential fluid. Computer was plugged, but I believe that it was just to record the service and reset the timer on the service reminder clock.

They allowed me to be present and to ask as many questions as I wanted. Outstanding shop (Winslow, Colorado Springs)

I took mines in at 1,038 Only oil and diff. Fluids. Just got mines done last week. I called ahead to make sure they had the diff fluids. My dealer didn’t so they were able to order it prior of me coming in.

Im at 1080, but Im dropping it off, tomorrow to the detailer, and they will have it for a week, or more for a full body PPF and ceramic. I'll schedule the break in, when I get it back.

I heard in another service thread someone took their F80 in for 1200 miles service at 1400 miles and at the end of the lease couldn't buy extended warranty from BMW for their vehicle because of the late Run In service. Not sure how true - but be careful if you guys plan to buy extended warranties from BMW down the line.
