G8x Track Wheels / Tires

For those tracking their G8x, what wheel / tire combos have y'all used?

I just used Hankook RS4 with my F80 CS this weekend - they are definitely not as sticky as previous RE-71s but they look almost brand new after 1-ish day on track (day 1 was a downpour - they actually did OK in the rain)…

This weekend got me thinking of what might be best for G80…thanks for the input!

I use 963m frozen 19/20 sized wheels with oem cup2 connect *.

The star marked cup2 are substantially stickier than base cup2.

I also recently installed camber plates and have -3.2 degrees negative front camber, otherwise the shoulders are toast in about 200 track miles

How many track days do you get out of the Cup2s? How do they wear compared to the re71r?

Hi, what brand camber plates did you use? Also, what size cup 2s are you running front and rear?

i had SC3 on my SS1LE, would get about 6 days before cording them. i know the guys with the ZL1 1LEs running the SC3R were getting about 3-4 days out of them ... interested to see how they hold up for the G80.

on my F80 i loved the NT01 so i'll probably look into those if my car gets here early enough in the season....

Sorry guys, haven't been on the forms much lately. My wheels / tires are FINALLY showing up today, ordered them back in November. Forgestar wheels, 19s all around with 285s up front and 305s out back. Forgestar made them with an offset and claims I will have no rubbing issues, we shall see.

Super cool video, thanks for sharing. If the weather holds I will be at VIR next weekend and will advise how things went. Its going to be a bit cool in the morning so I will probably run my first session each day with the stock PS4s and then switch over to the new shoes in the afternoon. Will be interesting to have the back to back comparison over 2 days. I am wishing I had ordered camber plates so hopefully I don't wreck these tires in one weekend. I will also be out on the carbotech brake pads for the first time, will be a lot to take in.

What I'm dying to know is whether 11" square fits. Or maybe even 11.5"

I am planning on running 305/30 19's all round on 19x11 inch rims.

The front will be tough, I'm estimating an ET of between 10-14 at the front.
ET14 would be equivalent to running a 20x10.5 ET20 (stock rear wheels) on the front, however a 305 protrudes more on an 11 than a 285 does on a 10.5, hence why it may end up as an ET10.

I've seen some pics of the G80's with 3 degrees camber on stock wheels and there is some serious room in the guards for more tyres once you wind it on.

That fitment on a stock car would be pretty amazing!

First the two GTMores have to be done. Right after that LOL.

The G8X would be for a full racecar, not street legal, towed to the track, stripped out etc. Give it 5 years

I'm looking at the Goodyear Supercar 3 for my X-Drive.

They do not make OE sizes, so I'm thinking about upsizing to 285/35/19 and 295/30/20. Rolling diameters are within 0.425%, actually closer than OE spec 0.56%. Any disadvantages to running 10mm wider? A little more flex?

This is a very interesting setup. I don't think you will see much difference except the tire size vs rim size might be a little less optimal so you could feel some difference in steering feel and or precision.

Please let us know how it turns out, I just spent almost 3k CAD on Cup2 connects for the season

I keep going back and forth on this exact setup. Im worried about sidewall flex. The cup2 and ps4s are much narrower to start so it will add material width as the sc3s are wider in compared to michelin in the same size.

Also looking at advan a052 cause they're cheaper.
