RK built my motor. Sleeved block, rods, pistons, bearings, studs.

I would have liked to have gone with KLM's new setup with cams but it was way before they started doing engines.

Went with the Precision 6870 turbo and added the chargepipe option. I'll add port injection and their intake manifold as well... other than that, I have Boostlogic downpipes and titanium exhaust.

Have to figure out tuning and anything else I'll need.

I'll be following your journey - The RK kit sounds super interesting.

I see you're in Austin also, I'll take it to some of the shows and night races if you get out to those. My M4 got dropped off today to RK. Spoke to the Paul Johnston team around tuning as well so I suppose here's the first update:

1/9/24 Car dropped off:: RK Single turbo kit with Precision 6870 Next Gen turbo selected. Opted to go with their Intake Manifold since I'll need port injection. They'll be installing that (ID 1050x injectors, Motive+). Staying stock engine, I'll be upgrading the trans with Applied Torque Solutions, they're a few hours away as well.
PJT will be doing the flex fuel tune

Nice! I’d love to take a look once it’s all dialed in.

I haven’t been in the BMW scene for a while, so it would be nice to get out and see what’s happening. I sold my last F80 in 2018. How is the community these days?

You won’t regret the ID1050X injectors, that’s what I’m running on my GT350 with E85, and they’re pretty much right where I need to be until it’s time to pull the motor.

Was RK being local the only factor that swayed you vs the KLM kit? Was it the installation? What are the differences? They look close, but I’m only just getting started with my “research”.

Super exciting stuff! Can’t wait to see more
