Ipe Catback Loudness

Hello,

I am wondering if any one has done a Catback system on the g82 m4, especially the ipe system since I liked the way it sounds and I heard there isn't much drone. I was wondering if anyone who has done it can share what kind of volume gain I can expect compared to a 200 cell high flow cat only setup and the full turbo back system? There isn't a video I could find so I hope someone could share it.

iPE makes exhaust for the Instagram crowd, so safe to assume it’s on the louder side.

Normally you are right but the G8X IPE is actually on the quieter side and it's probably one of if not the best on drone control this time. IPE this time is quite a bit quieter than Fi and Armytrix, same with the drone level. With ASD off, mine with 200cel cats and valve controller, even with valves 100% open there's literally no drone at all. I can cruise at Highway speed with valve 100% open no problem at all.

I'll be honest I am not a fan of IPE products since they are normally aiming for decibels over a better tone but I would say the G8X one is an exception.

Definitely sounds way better than the F8X Akrapovic since S55 sounds so awful only equal length can save the sound haha. S58 in general sounds a lot better than s55, for now the catbacks I recommend would be Remus non-race version (Remus race version drones even with valves closed), IPE and the newer version of the Fi. Akrapovic sounds okay but the sound can't justify for the price imho, Eisenmann is great as well but the lead time is crazy long.

Anyone know a good US distributer for the IPE system? Curious the cost and lead-time within the states...

Have you heard any other G8X catback or midpipes in person? I would say IPE is a bit louder than Akra and slightly quieter than those mid pipes without silencers. With valve controller IPE catback alone barely has any rasp which is really good, tone is quite deep though not as deep as remus.

IPE is known for its louder systems; they keep secondary cats in their midpipe to tone it down.

The issue with their exhaust is not necessarily the loudness but the design; it is raspy.
