Coming soon: MSS “Hybrid” front HAS

Ben, at RG Sport in Irwindale, hooked me up with a set of prototype MSS “Hybrid” front HAS. (Thank you Ben.)

Wow. The ride has been transformed

For the past 1.5 years, I’ve been running the MSS Version 2 HAS. Sometimes, the front suspension would “crash” down harshly onto the bump stops when encountering pavement irregularities and potholes. It was enough to make me cringe when I approached certain spots on the road. No more. Now, the front end just soaks up pavement bumps, ridges and potholes –much like the stock suspension does.

The V2 uses the factory spring perch and thus has a relatively short spring that would fully compress on some pavement irregularities. The Hybrid has an adjustable perch and uses dual spring rates with a tender spring and a main spring. No more bottoming-out.

The Hybrid requires at least 10 mm spacers. (I’m running 12 mm front and rear.)

Pricing has yet to be determined. Contact Ben if you want more information.

BTW: I’m told the shiny aluminum bits will be anodized in the production version.

Thank you for your feedback and help to refine this suspension setup.
Now, next step is to work on the pricing.

Pretty sure they are like 2.5k which would make no sense in terms of the benefit they have over other options at that price. Just overkill for a lesser technology but glad you are happy.

It requires spacers because of wheel to strut clearance issues?

That’s what I am working on.
More consumer friendly pricing.

Spring perch clearance.
Regardless, majority of guys already running a minimum of 10mm spacers.

Despite Ben trying to make it fit this “hybrid” MSS setup didn’t work with my Edelweiss 20’s front wheels which don’t require spacers.
If MSS fixes this perch clearance issue I’d be interested in giving it another go.

Ben are you setting these up the same? Bottomed out on the front and 10 mm on the back?

Different setup on Hybrid system since you have more travel.
OP’s set up not full drop.
Full drop probably as you mentioned.

Doubt they will. It is because the size of their main spring requires bigger perch.

I’ve personally done about 4k miles on the MSS Hybrid kit and truthfully forget it’s lowered the ride quality and compliance is that good.

This is the most technically advanced HAS kit available and it really shows. We also have an M4 CSL customer who had completed about 5 track days before fitting the MSS Hybrid and has done 2 since and is hugely impressed by the upgraded track performance over the standard CSL suspension.

It’s also currently 10% off for Black Friday on our website 🤫

Lol FR, especially when full suspension kits from super reputable companies are only 1k more. But happy new things are coming out. Lol

I digress, if this allows you to maintain ride comfort, lower the car and not blow your stock shocks then its a good option, especially for those looking to keep EDC settings.

But I still think its expensive given my last post. It's essentially Eibach springs on a HAS kit, now the redeveloped version added an additional perch for the second spring. Wondering if that really adds another 1k to the price. But! We can't tell people what to charge for their products, we can only voice our opinions.

One thing I will say is that whilst Eibach are the spring manufacturer for MSS (being one of the best spring manufacturers in the world) they are not in any way a similar or comparative spring to Eibach's lowering spring option.

Sadly most of you are not local to us being in the UK, but anyone who is on the fence can come for a ride in our G81 M3 or G87 M2 which both have this kit fitted to experience the difference.
