MSS HAS squeaking noise over soft bumps

Anyone experience any type of squeaking noise with their springs? I have MSS HAS on an M3 for only a few months. I noticed the squeaking within a month in.

I noticed the squeaking coming from the right side. I feel like I mostly hear from the front wheel but I'll need to take a closer listen to the back side as well.

Is it because there is no passenger in the right side which is why the squeaking is coming? I'll also need to observe when I have a passenger with me next time.

The noise mainly occurs over those soft/smooth bumps in the road where the car going over a dip in the road. Think of like an inverse speed bump. I don't notice the squeaking over potholes or other hard bumps.

Yep, had mine reinstalled and it came back. My passenger side rear makes a noise exactly as you are describing. I washed my car Saturday and pushed a lot of water in there and it went away for a day. Sound came back today. Could it be debris kicking up and getting lodged in adjuster? But it can't be just right side so I don't know. Other than that, love the way car looks and drives.

Exactly the same issue here.

I had the original kit and then I fitted the new updated maximum low kit and after a month it squeaks

It's very faint but just enough to be really annoying once you notice

I have had significant issues with my MSS HAS kit, to the extent that I have had them removed and my original springs reinstalled.

I'm currently giving Evolve and MSS the opportunity resolve the situation satisfactorily - if they don't (and I'm already having issues) I will post a detailed description of my experience so help other people make the right product choice.

I'm surprised to see so many issues with this kit, as I've had the MSS on my F87C, then I had the original on my G82 before switching over to the new low version.
I did all the installations myself and never had any issues with noise (knock on wood).
Curious to see what caused the noise.

Have you observed if the sound comes with someone sitting on the passenger side? Or when you're the only one?

Yeah agree on the faint buy annoying part. Have you observed if the sound comes with someone sitting on the passenger side? Or when you're the only one?

I got cold feet with my MSS Kit and ended up canceling my install the day before. Sent it back and lost a restocking fee plus shipping, but man do I feel that I dodged a bullet here and so glad I backed out. I don't have the time and don't want to deal with noise issues on a $90k+ brand new car. Don't care how good it looks lowered.

If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say that the sound is coming from the top mount of the shock. Either the top mount will need to be replaced, or it may simply need to be re-seated and the MSS spring rotated to the proper position on the top mount.

Question for the OP - is your MSS kit V.1 or V.2?

I had the same issue when I switched out to the version 2 springs. I had the springs reinstalled several times thinking it's an installation issue. Every speed bump I went over it sounded like the springs were making contact with itself. Guess what? That's exactly what was going on. See pics below for the missing paint. I switched back to the old springs and everything is good. My suspicion is either there is a bad batch of springs out there or the new set of springs were rushed out the door with little R&D.

There are still non overpriced options out there that just werk, adjustability be damned. I couldn't imagine spending 1k+ and still have stock dampers.

Mine looks this way too. I had passenger side reinstalled and my guy said springs were beat up. Also getting oise from rear springs now. MSS doesn't have a customer service number you can call to express your complaints from what I can find out.

I agree, mine has no issues on my G82 with V2 installed by a long time BMW Master tech.

I had some noise when I had a G80 on V1 but that was an issue cause by a mistake I made and was resolved.

My guy is a Master Tech also and am confident in his skills that's why it makes me think I have a bad set..

Damn, dealing with MSS was a pain in the ass. You are gonna have to go through the shop you bought it from. We had to do this the V1 days when the drop amount was not as advertised. We had to fight hard for action.

If your retailer is good, they will exchange no problem.

It's hard when the retailers say it's a I stall issue and there is no way to prove differently. Also after 2k in parts and labor, I'm about to throw my hands up and go back to stock or go with another brand. Thanks for the info.

Since replacing the front springs with a new set of v1's and keeping the same spring seat the ride has improved. I'm actually enjoying them now.

Damn what a terrible retailer, they did not even see the install and they assume that is the issue? If you used Amex, you can try a chargeback and that would kick start the retailer to send you a return shipping label and refund.
