I'm wondering if there's a top mount bearing issue with these cars and the harder springs are causing slow failures given the amount of issues people are having? I'm on OEM springs at the moment and am now getting a spring bind, bmw near me said I'm not the first..
What's a spring bind?

The spring binds as you turn the wheel. Instead of the spring turning freely as you turn your wheels the spring gets caught for a second then 'springs' round suddenly as the tension forces it to. Creates a knocking sound as you turn at slow speeds (or stationary once it's bad enough) as it gets worse and it binds for longer the intermittent knocking / clunking turns into more of a loud springy ping sound.

That's the best (maybe worst) explanation I've got so hopefully that helps

Or if anyone else knows, please chime in. Thanks.
I just completed my euro Eibach front and rear spring install on my G82 xdrive. I got exactly 20 mm front drop and about 17 mm rear drop.

I did the front first to see if that would look ok by itself, but the rear was way too high in comparison. So I followed it up immediately doing the rears as well.

It is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. The rear could be another 3 mm lower to exactly match the front. It rides amazingly well, just a touch firmer than stock, feels quite planted and still quite a nice range of suspension travel. It is quite mild compared to some of the other kits, but it was exactly what I was looking for. It also happens to match the ideal track handling height as prescribed by the M performance HAS.

One last thought, I'm not sure how the stock height varies between G80/G82 and x-drive vs non, but doing front-only on a G82 x-drive looked really raked, in not a good way. I'm glad I had both fronts and rears just in case, because the rears are definitely necessary. I can post some images later.

Many thanks. I have these springs sitting in my garage, just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I have RWD, but my hunch is the "front only" springs may be too much rake for the RWD as well. But I'll give it a shot, as I'll them install the fronts first.

I look forward to seeing your pix.

Alright, these aren't in the exact same spots, but they are level and as close to apples to apples as I have.

1st pic - stock ride height
2nd pic - front only in the shop (sorry I wasn't able to get a better angle)
3rd and 4th pics - eibach pro front and rear drop (current setup)

3rd and 4th pic is all I need. That drop looks perfect to me, that's exactly what I want. Very subtle, with the forward rake. If the stock ride quality is all but maintained, even better.

In the front-only pic, yes, I can't tell that the rake is too much. But no worries. I'll just install them at all 4 corners.

Many thanks!

Yeah, I'm super happy with it. It sounds like you'll love it too. Enjoy!

I wonder how these compare to the H&R sport springs.

Just FYI, the G82/83 have more wheel gap in the back stock than the G80. The G80 kit is front only. Eibach does not prescribe rear springs for the G80.

That's so interesting to me considering they are basically the same car. I wonder why the gap differs so much between G80s and G82s?

It certainly appears that way in pictures.

Yea it’s just fender design that makes for the difference in gap.

Went hunting for the front only 20mm / E10-20-049-01-20 for my G80.. Found a site with a 'spring sale' right now listing them for $149. $220 shipped to me in AZ.

https://www.mlperformanceusa.com/search?q=E10-20-049

Also on sale is the all corner G80/E10-20-049-06-22 and G82/E10-20-049-01-22. Seems like a steal currently.
