2022 G82 w/ MPE titatnium backbox - UK car (with GPF's)

Sao Paulo Yellow G82 M4 Competition with full M Performance exhaust (MPE) - this is a UK region car so has the particulate filters unfortunately. Still a great upgrade over the stock sound.

Kind regards

Unfortunately, you and I are probably the only ones on Bimmerpost that like this exhaust. It gets no love, at all. It just became available in the US, about a week ago, and I plan on getting it, eventually. It's about $7,500 US with shipping. But I see it in my future.

$7500?! Is it titanium?? Sounds pretty good to me but still too much for it. There's already a few options out there for less and I'm sure more will be available this year.

Might as well get the Akropovic at that point...

It is Titanium, and the full Akrapovich with the Carbon rear diffuser and tips is about $10,000. And the dealer won't give you that look when you bring it in, for service.

Good to know! I don't think the dealer would care that much about an exhaust. Downpipes, yea but exhaust you have a better chance.

Does the exhaust come with the upgraded diffuser?

The exhaust "kit" can be purchased in separate pieces. The back box, main exhaust section. The rear diffuser and the tip section. The entire assembly, is about $6,800. $500 where I'm at for either tax, or shipping. If you can find free shipping, they usually charge the tax. If they don't have tax, the usually charge a few hundred for shipping. If I order the parts from a few different places, I can probably find it for $7,200ish combined.

$7,000 for axle back is steep man, I'm going between this and akrapovic and remus. Is it an axle back or more?

What I like about M performance its unique and the dealer does everything..

Or I just stop the obsession about titanium and just put on a remus exhaust and save $2,000 and have a turbo back instead of an axle back.

Do you know if you can go back to the stock quad layout or is the diffuser cutting process irreversible ?

No, the stock exhaust is cut to install the M Performance. But I'm actually sure you can find someone selling an OEM one, or giving it away. Or if you watch the Studie G video on the install, you "could technically" use the same clamps that join the M Performance Exhaust, after they cut it, to reinstall the OEM exhaust. Im sure the exhaust clamps to join the 2 pipes together, can be had at any exhaust shop.

We need an American car with this exhaust I need to see how it actually sounds, that new akrapovic video with the m3 that has the catless down pipes sounds really good, not sure if its $5,000 more good though lol.

Once you cut, you need to buy a new bumper to go back to stock.

The Akrapovic and MPE exhaust are very close to sounding like stock. This is most likely due to retaining the secondary cats. Once you pair them with a midpipe, they sound much better and louder once those cats are removed. That being said, these exhausts are very pricey for sounding like stock, you need to spend another $1500-2000 for a midpipe if you want to make it sound decent. For this reason I went with Remus.

I've changed the rear diffuser on my car from gloss black to carbon and the only places that it attaches, are the left and right side, next to the tips, and all along the top edge. I would think you could still cut the center out for the new exhaust, and if you wanted to reinstall the old exhaust, you probably could, without a new rear bumper.

Riced out Civic wet dream. Doesn’t belong on BMW.
Reminds me of that Lexus ISF exhaust from mid 2000

To expensive for what u get…besides the exhaust u need a new diffusor too…I ones checked with my dealer…everything together is more than 10k here…

Akrapovic titanium is half the price…so a no brainer what I would get, not only because of price, but I just like the traditional look more than this

Nice. Honestly, I was hating this up until I saw it. It does look pretty cool, its not traditional at all, but everytime i see a stock one now I think its not as cool as the new MPE.

It does sound better than stock, but ideally needs PPF filters removing to really get some decent M4-deserving sound. You guys in the US dont have this issue!!

I'm sure you can reuse the old bumper, but you might not get the same level of support compared to stock. Start at 2:20 in the video below and you'll see a massive amount from the center is being cut.

Wasn't BMW going to release an MPE exhaust with the traditional tips?

True. I think this was the video that I saw, last year, that really made this exhaust stand out for me. But, I watched it, again, for good measure. Its true that there is a substantial piece cutout of the stock bumper. I would also imagine, that since you cut the factory exhaust, to fit the M Performance Exhaust, that you could use the same exhaust clamps that they used to reinstall the factory exhaust, at a later date. Not to mention that the M Performance Exhaust immediately sets this car apart from any other model. Like the M330-440 cars.

Youre a little backwards on this one. The price of the whole "kit" in the US (probably not at the dealer) can be had for $6,800. This is every part you see in the video, for $6,800 US. The Akrapovic, is over $10,000, once you add the diffuser and the tips.

I truly disliked this exhaust when I first saw it last year. But something about it has really drawn me towards it over the last few months. Likely because it's so unique and you'll probably never see many of them.

I was instantly drawn to it, for the same reason. It's unique. True, Lexus has designed something "similar" but it's nothing like this. You're not going to see this exhaust on the M330-440 models, like I said in my last post.

Wanna bet?
I see M stickers in front of 340 and 330 cars along with 530 and 530
How much you want to bet some is already working on getting this muffler installed on their 320 somewhere

Well, they would have a hell of a time, trying to get it fitted with the stock rear bumper. It would look like ass. There arent any retrofit kits for someone to change their non ///M to a full M rear bumper.
