Video of 200 CELL Downpipe?

Anyone just installed a 200 cell downpipe (eg armytrix or akrapovic) on their g80 and can share videos? Im looking to purchase one but can't find any videos of folks who have solely installed a catted downpipe

Not Armytrix or Akra, but a exhaust shop in the UK fabricated one for me using HJS cats.

My only mod: catted downpipes

Yours will sound better because US doesn't have OPF/GPF filter - in any case I could notice a slightly deeper exhaust note and longer and more aggressive burbles

Have you noticed any increase in power, throttle response, turbo response?

Hello. Do you know how many cells are in stock downpipes? R44 have 300 cell downpipes in stock and just wondering if they are worth it. They cost £1000.

I would say so, slightly, might just be placebo but I feel the throttle response is less restricted now. My friends swear that the car is more powerful but I can't tell too much of a difference.

I did measure my 100-200kph using dragy just after RIS fully stock, and that was 8.35 sec - I will re-test it and let you know if it's any quicker

Hey sorry for the late reply, I think stock might be 400 or 600 - not entirely sure tbh!

I would ask who the manufacturer of the cats is. 300 cell cats are usually made in China ("Bargee" cats).

For the same price you can get German made HJS cats from Topgear Eurosport (just send them a message and they can fabricate one on demand)

Hello. No worries. Thank you. Good to know they will fabricate. I would rather get the 200 cell similar to yours. Hope you’re enjoying the Dow pipes. 👍

Not 200CEL, but here is a video of the Active Autowerke 400 CEL with a short sound comparison at the end

Were you able to retest the 100-200 kph?

Not yet the weather has been horrendous here, constant rain... hopefully next month I can re-test

I now also have MST air intake kit installed so that will also have a small impact on performance

The stock cats is way more than 400cel, I think if I am correct the stock one is 800 cel. As for the 300cel cats are usually made in China I am afraid I have to disagree as well. The cheap ones from China are mostly 200 cel ones, 300 cel ones can be GESI ones and they are good even though not as good as HJS. I would recommend to buy the downpipe from Redstar, you can choose exactly the setups you want at a really reasonable price (catless or HJS 200cel or GESI 300 or 400 cel, and heat shield or not).

The HJS is more expensive than GESI, that is correct.

But I disagree with GESI not being as good as HJS, as far as I know, and might be wrong; no data was ever posted comparing the 2.

In the US, GESI cats are EPA approved; HJS is not. So one might argue that GESI is better here than HJS.

They both get the job done with no CEL. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I have re-tested today, with the downpipes and also MST air intakes. Bear in mind the DA is higher now due to change in climate:

I only did 1 run, I am pretty sure I can get it close to 8sec bang on

Happy with the result considering it's the AWD (100 lbs heavier) and no engine tune.
