Thats true, but technically there is coding to add to make it work exactly like OEM.

The coding you enable in bimmer code activates a setting menu in idrive for the charger that will allow you to set a reminder on/off to take your phone out of the tray when you shut down the car.

Experiencing some strange behavior.

Digital key disappeared from Samsung Wallet and I am unable to add it back.

I can however add the keycard back, so reader is functioning.

Tried: S24+ / S23+ iPhone 15
Reset digital keys for all profiles.
Uninstalled and reinstalled app.

Followed the instructions here:

I get the e-mail with the activation code, but the pairing fails as soon as I place the phone on the charging pad.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

I did this retrofit without the coding and could not get my iphone to pair with digital key for the life of me. That was earlier this year.

I then used bimmercode to add the WIFI tray settings in idrive. The second I did that, my iphone would pair with the digital key process.

Flash forward... Ive had an idrive update and got a new iphone 15 pro. I lost my digital keys. I also lost the WIFI tray settings in idrive.

Went back to bimmercode to reprogram the wifi tray back into idrive. And realized I cant connect my new iphone to the USB lightening adapter since my iphone is USB C now. UGH! Ordered a USB C to Rj45 adapter and got my WIFI tray coding back into idrive this morning.

Tried doing my digital key again and BAM, it took the first time.

So if any of you all did this mod. And cant get digital key to pair. You must add the wifi tray coding (mentioned in this thread) to idrive for digital key to pair.

At least thats what I had to do.

Can you please confirm if you only had issues with your phone before re-coding / Did the NFC card work before you re coded?

My NCF cards works fine after the retrofit, but I am experiencing the same issue as described above when trying to add the phone.

I dont remember if I had my iphone setup as a key before doing the wifi charging retrofit.

I had issues adding my iphone as a digital key after doing the wifi charging retrofit. Adding bimmercode WIFI coding to idrive made my NFC/Wifi charging pad accept my iphone. Not sure if my NFC key gave me any issues or not. I dont use that. But adding the two codes for the wifi tray in bimmercode got my iphones to pair immediatly.

I can confirm that I had to code the following two options:

Body Domain Controller BDC > WCA_ENABLE = aktiv
Headunit HU > WCA = aktiv

The digital key activated first time after adding these.
