I wonder how much weight the CF exterior package weighs? add weight to look fast? lol this is a late night thought that recently came up lol
Carbon Buckets are a need haha

Why would you not add carbon fiber interior trim if you have the carbon exterior, carbon roof & carbon seats?

I don't think the carbon exterior package would add weight. You're replacing non-CF parts with CF parts (diffuser, mirror caps, lip) so in theory it should be lighter, except for replacing the front mesh with solid pieces which might be slightly heavier. We're talking a pound or two IMO.
I believe behind the mesh the same air funnels exist on the regular trim cars and the carbon is there to add lightness.... they delete the mesh on the carbon pack so it can be shown off

You're probably right that the ducts would be there, just made out of plastic instead

Not sure about the significance of weight savings, the diffuser would be the most substantial but it can't be more than a couple of pounds of savings vs. the standard version.

Garage List
2013 BMW M3  [0.00]
2011 BMW 328  [0.00]
2010 BMW 335 M Sport  [0.00]
I’m stuck on the Executive PKG. Besides the Laser Lights and Charger, what makes the package worth it. Also definitely concur with CF Roof, and ZPK while removing ZDY. Not sure if ventilated seats would make the leather less or more durable as I have Sport Cloth seats in my E92. Lastly, I like the Red Calipers on the Dark Green exterior.

Silverstone is a Beyotch to maintain...I'd go black or brown...the one from the release video is flawless.

I have a question for anyone here. I ordered a g80 with the individual shadow line lights and was wondering, because it’s “individual”, does that mean it will take longer in production? I know that’s the case for the colors but was wondering if it’ll take longer.. I’m in a g20 that has a lot of issues that they’re still letting me drive so I don’t really feel like waiting longer than I have to... thanks

Initially, when i ordered my g82 individual, the car had to be built at the end of production.
In the end, it's the opposite, at the start of production !
My car was made this week

No I don't believe it's going to take any longer than a build without the shadowline lights, they can install this part right on the assembly line

Individual paint options are a bit different as the vehicle may need to be painted at another location which would add more time to the build process

BMW have been adding the "Individual" tag to normally available options, ie "Individual Dravit Gray" which shouldn't add any extra build time as this paint would be able to be applied on the assembly line

Fire Orange for example though would add time to the process

@Foun84
Nice! Which color did you get? I really wanted dravit grey but was afraid that it would slow the production. Thank you

@CCM11285
Thank you for your input! I was wondering if the dravit would take longer as well but wasn’t sure because this color option is available for the g20’s and swore I read somewhere that it was being made in the same plant. I may have to change my color to dravit gray if that’s the case haha

Thank you!

If you want it , take the dravit, it’s slower (in some cases) but worth the extra time

The heads up display is the most important aspect for me (especially as a 6MT driver). Having the tachometer on the windshield is so amazing.

It’s all about trade offs - even in living your life. Re red brake calipers: what other items on the outside tie in or compliment that color feature? Do the other selections tie in better? Blue calipers with the laser lights work for me. Most owners of these vehicles probably are very meticulous in maintaining their car as I assume you are. White upholstery in a show room car is stunning and trying to keep it in that condition will soak up a lot of time and effort. Is there a better upholstery combination that compliments the outside of the car? The black piano finish I’m told holds fingerprints very easily - another area that may require more effort depending on your cleaning disposition. Moonroof vs CF. Are you tracking the car? Are you competing for money? Are race winnings your livelihood? I don’t race and I personally like the effect of ambient light coming in from above especially with a darker interior so added weight is not an issue with me. Even designers who are educated and trained have to make trade offs. It comes down to, as others have stated, do what feels and looks good to you. “One man’s treasure is another man’s trash”.

@wtadeo92 I think the G20 cars are all built in Mexico, which is a long way from Munich, where the M3 cars are made

if you like the moonroof, get it! yeah its a better quality the CF but at the end of the day its what you like. I'm getting it on mine! I feel like Im trapped inside a car if I don't have a sunroof/moonroof.
