Do I have to take delivery at the selling dealership?

When purchasing through an out-of-state dealer (or via broker), is it possible to have the vehicle shipped somewhere closer to where you live?

I figured this might be possible because I know shipping can be changed for performance delivery and such.

Thanks!

If it's to another dealer closer to where you live, then sometimes dealers offer a courtesy delivery (Although rare from what I've heard). I believe AndroidRobot has gone this route in the past.

If you just want to have it delivered to some 3rd party location near you, then you'll most likely have to pay the shipping charge, if that's an option.

you can do a courtesy delivery if your sales rep and the dealership near you agree to terms. Not all dealers will do this but some will for a fee. This needs to be dialed in with your sales rep early on in the process. We do this all the time since we sell cars all over the US.

Awesome, good to know it's a possibility. I have three dealerships local to me, so hopefully we could work something out vs having to drive 8+ hours for pickup!

Why not ask those dealers to earn your business instead?

I definitely would if going for a normal allocation build. I'm currently considering a nicely discounted HEA G80, which is about 8 hours away. None of my local dealers have one available.

That sounds pretty awesome, I've been thinking about it. I'm not sure how Covid impacts that though.

8 hours sounds like a perfect break-in road trip

I took courtesy delivery at a dealer, depending on your relationship with them it can be free. Generally speaking they can charge you a ~$500 fee for it too
