87 south was littered with flooded cars; at least 25 cars within 1/2 mile

My guess their loss was even more dramatic; driving them all of a sudden your stuck now water coming into the car and you gotta get out.

A state trooper in Connecticut lost his life when his vehicle got washed away.

Op count your blessings could of been a lot worse glad you're okay and a new car is on the way

As a former NY'er and a car guy, my heart goes out to you, looking at the total mess NY was during that storm is heartbreaking. Its crazy the amount of ripples in the interior from the water.

Its a car, and a new one at that, so soon you can do it again.

Swap the wheels with someone's stock wheels before you give it back. Or
Tell the insurance company you have sentimental value to the car and they'll sell it to you for 25% of value. Then part that shit out.
They'll still cut the check for a new one regardless.

Shit yeah they will. When I was in NY for sandy a rental flooded in my garage. the tow truck drivers were taking all the flood cars to JFK for cleaning and shipment. That car will def be salvaged and sold.

Thanks for all the kind words, happy to report I've finally worked through all the insurance process and am back to having a car again!

I had originally re-ordered the exact same car but then found out I wouldn't receive it until likely December so began a search for any M3 or M5 I could get my hands on. I was incredibly lucky to find a needle in a haystack and snagged a Marina Bay Blue M5 Competition that was sitting in the NJ VPC waiting on a remote audio module. The car was spec'd pretty much exactly as I would have ordered so now I am headed to a new forum but happy to report all is well that ends well!!!
