Marked up Finance Rate?

All,
I'm excited to say that my car should be getting to the dealership in the next few days, and I'm getting ready to close things up on the pricing. What was your experience with the finance rates on these cars? I currently have a MSRP deal and am looking to keep things to the factory programs. Given the current rates things are expensive enough as it is. It seems like allocation waits are getting close to normal, and I know a friend who just paid the standard rate at my dealer so I don't think I'm being unreasonable. I'm looking to hear from everyone on their thoughts+experiences.

Goal is none of the above.

Seems to me that most dealers are still trying to get both. If you get a dealer to sell you one at MSRP, chances are they will try and pad the rate.

That's the goal for sure, and kind of what I'm expecting at least for the initial offer.

Seems like you haven’t talked with your CA about, maybe you should.

I ordered my car in July and picked it up on Halloween. I received 3% off MSRP and finance rate of 5.29% with BMW FS.

We had talked when I ordered the car but that was months ago, I know where they're starting out. I'm curious to see how things are going at the moment.

If your car is close, you should reopen the conversation with them. I wouldn’t wait until you show up to pick up the car.

100% I already have started, just trying to gauge everyone's experiences.

Want to provide feedback but wanted to see what the definition of marking up the rate is. For example, M cars usually have an extra 1% added to base rate automatically.

To my understanding, the factory rate on a M3 is 5.29. The dealers are allowed to add up to 1% to whatever the program is

When I bought mine, it was 4.99% base plus 1% for M. Sounds like the rate is only slightly higher now. Just sharing as a data point.

If you have the option I’d look at outside financing with a credit union. Lots of times they offer lower rates and there is no padded rates. Navy Federal has some of the best rates right now.

Yeah, I've done so, unfortunately I'm not eligible for Navy Credit. My current credit unions that I am a member of is much more expensive than even BMW.

No it’s not. The dealer is the one that marks up the rate, not based on being an M car.

March 2023 purchase. MSRP + BMWFS (4.79+1.00=5.79%). Not the best, but they had an allocation right away and I got tired of waiting. Ended up paying it off within a few months with no penalty.
