Agreed! M3 looks better, proper....not stretched out like Gumby's car. These cars are huge and that to me is :

I am no fan of metallic paints, but an M8 Competition in Dravit Grey paint looked pretty sharp on the showroom floor, the metallic flakes are much smaller and subtle than typical BMW metallic paints.

Every time I read a comment saying it looks great something dies inside. Like, I want to meet and understand the people that says this looks great, cause I can’t believe anyone feels that but I know some people do.

I don’t mind it as much but not sure it’ll ever totally grow on me either

They look a similar style to the standard wheels on the German configurator

More and more i'm leaning towards the M3...the M4 looks like it was forced (stretched. as you said) into a coupe body style.

The G82 just does not look appealing, it kinda looks okay but nothing special. It certainly isn't 'growing' on me. In comparison I saw a F32 Lci today at the traffic lights and even though it was a 420i it looked sleek and sexy.

Looks like a couple of art deco fireplaces side by side. I've yet to see a photo which remotely flatters the front end of this car, or any of them with this absurd grille.

I am not sure about that. It even seems like the front and rear wheels are of a different style...

When the e46 M3 launched I was excited with the power, the concept of SMG, etc "I bought one" - 6MT lol

When the e92 M3 launched I was excited and did euro delivery. The concept of the DCT was so modern and new. "I bought one"

When When the F8x M launched, I was excited by the lightweight CF drive shaft, the engine, the styling. The car just looked like it was going to kick your ass. "I almost bought one"

When the F87 M2 launched, the size!! The "Bulldog" M. Loved the throw back to the e46. "I bought one"

When the F87 M2C launched, it was a F8x M in a bulldog package. "I bought one"

Here we are today. Every M car has had some kind of trade off. Eventually I was able to live with them. This new M car has too many issues to just "live" with for me. I think I could eventually live with the grill, but it's the size and weight.

Can't wait to see people get them.

Just my 2 cents.

I fully agree, I think both M3 & M4 exterior designs are completely convoluted.

To me the whole front end looks like as if a BMW M mated with with a Dodge Charger/Ford Mustang, which does NOT work. I still don't understand how this exterior design got okayed by everybody at Bavarian Motor Works.

With that said I think the M4 looks pretty much identical to the new M8, just a smaller version. The M8 race car looks amazing 😍, but the standard large and long M8 design does nothing for me, especially with its extreme price tag.

I have a feeling that the new M3, M3 Touring, and M4 are going to be bad-ass driving machines especially with M xDrive, it's just when you spend that much money 💸 you want a good looking sexy vehicle.

Wow, that looks much different than what I had expected.

FWIW - That 340i looks great. Take those grilles and do vertical black slats and black frames and usual M fenders, hood, CF roof mirrors, and the car would look great, IMO.

Not surprising, only 300 pounds/140kg lighter than the F90 M5. What a joke.
No kidding?!? That's just as much a deal killer, if not more, than that ugly face.

Just imagine if you were driving in the left lane on the autobahn. You scan your rear view mirror and saw that grill coming up on you REALLY quickly. You may just have another opinion of how that front end looks to you.

So basically if you seat a fat guy in your passenger seat you have a less fast, less spacious, and less luxurious M5
