Imperfections in Carbon Fibre trim weave

I've noticed a small imperfection in one area of my interior carbon fibre.

Is this just the luck of the draw or do you think they would swap it out under warranty?

I'm sure they will say each piece is unique or what ever but this just looks a little off. Thoughts ?

Not a major issue but I noticed it right away and has been bugging me since

It's just the bit in red, the rest is camera shine

You can notice it from every angle because the rest of the piece is flawless. It sticks out like a sore thumb even from over on the drivers side

Garage List
If this is how it came from factory then I would take it to BMW, and ask for a replacement... I mean they have a Quality Control process.. these kind of things should be caught by them

Can you feel that on the surface, or is it below in the resin?

If on the surface you could probably get a detailed to polish it, but if it’s below the surface I wouldn’t try that.

They may swap it out but I always hate having service departments start messing around with trim pieces because they usually create rattles after prying the old piece off.

If you can’t ignore it then get it fixed. Personally I might learn to ignore that one.

Just my 2 cents

Yeah it's below the surface.

It's an imperfection below the clear coat.

Not a big deal but if I can get it replaced for free I'll probably do it.

Absolutely ask for it to be replaced. Such an easy piece to change out for BMW.

Sometimes I hate this forum because now I'm anxious and need to go check all of my cf trim as well lol.

BMW should definitely replace that for you

Just to update on this.

My car went in for running in service and they agreed to replace this piece no questions asked.

It's on back order though so may have to wait a while
