Last 4 cars have been M3/M4's and have driven BMW's the last 25 years. Just couldn't do the new grill so picked up a 911. Sorry BMW but you lost a loyal customer.

You probably should've left sooner if you could've afforded a 911 before now. I would already be gone if I could afford a 6MT GT3......but I can't at the moment, so I stay.

Even if I could afford a 911, I've stuck with the M3/4 over the years because they really appealed to me, they suited my needs very well and I could really associate with them. That's no longer the case with the G8X. The 992turbo now suits what I am looking for in a car better for a single 4-season dual use car. Previous gen 911turbo were more focused as GT cars and not necessarily optimal for the track. Porsche seem to have changed that quite significantly with the 992turbo, where track performance has been much enhanced. I would really love a GT3, but they are too compromised as daily drivers. Several of my friends own GT3/GT3RS and are unanimous in saying they would not consider daily driving them. Plus I need the rear seats to schlepp the kiddies around on occasion. I originally considered 992 C2S, but when I started looking into the 992, the turbo caught my attention. Yes, AWD is not my preferred option, but all the reviews I've read/watched praised how well the AWD has been implemented on the 992turbo, and at 3,500~3,600lb it remains decently light. It is the video below by Tim Schrick that swayed me into the turbo, they way he describes how the car handles on track really speaks to me.

I am no expert on the 992 AWD drivetrain but I do recall that since the 991 the AWD cars will put 100% of the power to the rear in the dry (no slip present) and can a portion 100% to the front if or as needed.
My take; while Porsche is not usually thought of as a leader in infotainment modules, I wholeheartedly feel they lead the way on driving tech. PDK, the AWD, PTV, suspension set up, PDCC, PASM, and a whole slew of others that I’m sure you could name.
I also think at the power and toque levels many of these cars are, they need AWD. I think the M5 is much better for it this gen vs the tire burner previously. The 911 turbo also amazes me in the fact that it is still lighter with that massive wide body, tech, and AWD than the rwd M3/4 and M2 (which is also smaller). Really goes to show how you can implement a lightweight awd car.
As for me, I am actually considering the G80 M3 for a daily (don’t love the grills but the rest is pretty good). Need to let it play out a bit but my wife and I have 3 cars including my new 718 GT4 so don’t think I need anything soon. At the same time, if the AWD M3 is 4100-4200 lbs, which I think it will be right there, it might make more sense to be in an M5C, an E63S, or maybe something like a mid size SUV.

CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwings are getting Magnesium wheels.
https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/10...nesium-wheels/

Looking at videos of the 4/5/6 - The CT4-V might be a nice size for those wanting a little smaller sedan. It seems the reveal is getting close, because there are lots of info coming out.

I'm definitely gonna drive the Blackwings when they come out. It's time to change things up. My loyalty to BMW is over.

Maybe F82 owners but I feel most F80 owners want and need 4 doors. The M2 is tiny.

Porsche doesn't make a true competitor to the M3 either. So the G80 is really going against MB, Audi, Alfa, Caddy for the most part.

Nope. The more "hardcore" ///M owners are leaving the brand...

M2 as it's not bloated with buckteeth

NEVER EVER gonna buy another M3 or M4 until they uncuck the front end.

Give the M2 time. The car has already grown in both size and weight (...give or take 3600 lbs.) since the original 1M. The new M2 will also have larger grilles.

Probably right about the length and weight which is weird since car companies are trying to increase fuel mileage

But the few spy shots of the possible M2 look pretty good so far.

They need to update the M2 with some tech. It's been sorely lacking for since it came out.

Working hard for the M3 + Ford Raptor as daily and GT3RS weekend car. Maybe I can convince the wife to get a Raptor but doubtful lol

To keep on with the above theme, I sold my F82 for a GT3 Touring this week. I'd love to be back in a BMW at some point if they ever come back to their senses...

We all have our perspective(s). It's a style thing and I like the Raptor. With that said, I'm not buying a truck.
