Tired of manually selecting M Sport Mode? (and other stuff!)

Hello, I'd like to introduce canDO+, an easy to install device that lets you customize your G8X iD8 car the way you like it! If you are looking to automate (or map to different buttons like M1/M2) certain functions such as M Sport Mode, DSC settings (with no confirmations!) or even the secondary display, canDO+ might be for you. The device is highly configurable through a web interface and has a number of CAN bus sniffing tools so that its functionality can be further enhanced by the user, along with future-proof over-the-air firmware updates.

We think canDO+ is a great product, and are keen to engage with more BMW drivers to exchange ideas on how to make it even better. One of our customers recently had a great suggestion that transformed into a firmware upgrade for everyone else (you can see "iDrive Actions" in the video below, where M Sport Mode is enabled on Engine Start, along with iDrive Actions that automatically select Adaptive Content display). There are too many examples to list, but I'd love to discuss here in the forums, or check us out at canDO+

Check us out at https://cando.plus !

Another fun feature (possibly a bit pointless nowadays): if you miss the traditional "radio channel scan" of old, canDO+ brings that back :-)

We're keen to hear more suggestions from drivers for the kinds of things they'd like, and who knows, it might make it in the next firmware update!

This looks super interesting. Do you have a list of common/useful things it can do?

Hi vlo !

Some of the interesting things users do are to automate settings when the engine starts or when pressing M1/M2 button. Most common is enabling M Sport Mode.

Users can add as many Actions as they want for a given trigger, so one could set M Sport Mode, disable TC, set M TC to an arbitrary level, display Adaptive Content automatically, set engine to Sport Plus, etc.

Then, iDrive buttons are unlocked with Touch and Long Press events, essentially enabling many more "shortcut buttons" like M1 and M2 on the steering to be mapped to different settings.

Very soon, the ability to automatically navigate/select widgets and shortcuts will be made available in a firmware update.

There are many, many possibilities and combinations!

canDO_Stef ,

Thanks for the examples. I love tinkering with this kind of stuff. Can it close the exhaust valves on startup?

Hi!

We get that request a lot- unfortunately, the exhaust valves are on a different system and not directly accessible.

Our product is well-suited to tinkerers, though :-)
