Here's a DIY video: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1955832 In this video, he removes the parking brake motor and manually winds it back. It's MUCH easier to do it electronically with Bimmerlink and an OBD2 scanner.

1500 = tons less dust than stock pads, same stopping as stock pads, street use only 2000 = same as 1500 but more stopping power, still less dust than stock by like 60%, not for track use

So if I’m looking to upgrade my pads for the dust, I’m at 1500 miles on the car haven’t experienced any noise yet. But I like to drive aggressively on the street sometimes and drag race a few times in summer. Do y’all think I should go with 1500 or 2000s?

I do recommend 2000.

Ceramics last forever, so pick based on the bite and dust. I run IS2K and love the good bite. Dust is low enough to keep me happy, but it’s there. If you’re ok with less bite than stock (but still good and smooth) and want least dusting then 1500s are your pick.

I’ve been very happy with both the braking capability and low dust generation of the iSweep2000. Noise has been nonexistent, but I also had no noise with my stock (brembo) pads.

With a lot of stop and go traffic, brake pads will wears out faster. My G05 X5 with IS2000 lasted over 20k miles on the rear, and front still going.

Granted, I break conservatively. I don’t slam them on unless I’m texting and driving, and otherwise go easy on them purposely to try and save the pads and rotors. I also don’t know how wide these pads are at stock, but my mechanic said they look brand new still. Maybe r33_RGSport can answer that.

They should be same thickness as stock.
