It is coming. See pic made by Scott26 above. That is him drawing the regular 4-series grills, not G8x. The polarizing grills will be on G2x coupe/vert and G8x sedan/coupe. G22 gets diamond pattern, G8x gets horizontal slats.

Sept 2018
Scott26..."The new 4er design wise is controversial. People will hate and people will debate."

"...though the false nose cone you can see the full length twin kidney grille, octangular in outline similar to Vision iDynamics and the hook nose in the centre which also doubles as the bonnet catch.
The licence plate will feature within the middle of the kidney grille."

Let's just hope for the best and see

" The architect of the plan to broaden the M line-up is Frank van Meel, the 51-year-old Dutch-born engineer poached from Audi Sport (formerly Quattro) in 2014 to lead BMW's performance car division. Van Meel described the new M3 as a linchpin in BMW M's plans to match Mercedes-AMG with combined global sales of M and M-Performance models of more than 100,000 per year in the longer term.

The plan also includes the introduction of several more slightly softer M-Performance models, with the overall aim of clawing back the sales advantage currently being enjoyed by the performance divisions of its arch-rivals, Mercedes and Audi.

"Along with the M5, the M3 is a crucial car for BMW M," he said. "It wasn't the first fully-fledged M car but it continues to stand for everything the brand is based upon."

Honestly who knows what's around the next few corners ...seems to me BMW is starting to have some fun again.

I think it's great. Way more character than before. You would know this is a Bimmer from a mile.
You will know it's a Bimmer from 2 miles with that grill.
Lmao... good one.

See I for one would have no interest in that “safe” render above, it looks bland and not much different to f8x.

Don't worry it won't be either "safe or bland".

Oh. My. God. That thing is hideous!! Hopefully they don't pull the trigger on a design like that. The BMW grill will be forever ruined. The extremely large grills on the SUVs are already excessive.... this is just down right outrageous.

Unbelievable. They nailed it with the 8 series Coupé and now this? Just make a baby M8 and nobody will complain besides some guys because it looks to similar. But better to copy a good looking car than coming up with something new that looks as horrible as this. I will not buy one if it looks like this. Hell, I even cant buy one because my girlfriend would be all over me when I come home with something looking so ridiculous as this.

A lot of denial in these pages! Twin coffin grilles, AWD, ZF Auto. Winter is coming...

I am not a fan of the new 7 series and I am not a fan of this.

I do think the grilles go too far down in this render and the headlights will look slightly different. But as Sedan Clan stated, I think it's 75%.

In my opinion the 8 series/M8 is a terrible looking car, I don’t want a mini 8 series.

The 6er 6GC is much better looking.

Well, it's certainly going to divide opinion!!
Personally, I think the front end is a poor effort and hopefully this rendering is exaggerating the new look
SUVs aside, Ive always liked BMW design because it's understated and elegant yet sporty and athletic, complementing the way in which the cars drive. The latest models with the oversized grilles are a step in the wrong direction, imho

Don't like the front grill at all. Too polarizing in a bad way. How can someone admire their car when it looks like that? It would make you embarrassed to show the car when the front looks like that.

I assume this front grill will also be carried over to the G Series M4 and G Series M2?
