Agreed, I used to do AWD burnouts in my 99 GSX, with 460 hp.

I hear you. I feel people who haven't had the AWD think it grips no matter what. That's just not how it is.

The only thing keeping this car from gripping from the factory, is a little M Differential Magic, and the weight of the car. My 99 Eclipse GSX was 2980 pounds, and you could drift endlessly, banging off the rev limiter.

That car is on drag radials.
The one in the video got the same quartermile time and trap speed as the draggy screenshot posted on the previous page. Hence my assumption that it's the same car & run.
it is the same car but drag radials don't matter. it's AWD and will hook up easily regardless. Better times were posted on stock Pilot Sport tires via the other thread but he never ran the 1/4 mile.
There was some slippage with these tires (OP).

It occurred out of the hole and into 2nd.

I'll post some more stock times next week when I get back in it (before the tune) in 2WD, 4WD and 4WD sport.

Some slippage could actually be beneficial, helps an AWD not to bog off the line.

Some wheel slip also protects drivetrain components from snapping or wearing too much

Facts are facts. Hopefully this car can be built like a GTR to be a super killer. Although the interior of the GTR is absolutely trash.

That's what I'm interested in seeing. What is going to fail first on these cars. It's going to be a learning curve but that is the be expected. Almost 4000 pounds and launching harder and with more power. Let the games begin

Hopefully. I said it before, if anyone bought a GTR for the interior they need to have their head checked. Lol

The point of a car is overall value. Whether you bought the car for the interior or not. Fact is fact. The interior is trash for a 100k car. This is from someone who loves the GTR.

Not denying it's bad. No matter what it was, I was buying it. Even with it being trash, car has held its value like crazy. Even before all this craziness hit. If I want to ride in more comfort, I take the M4😉

Trust me. I’ve always wanted a GTR…and because i still haven’t secured my allocation yet for g80 awd. I doubt a little bit whether I should just buy a GTR. The value it holds is simply amazing. It really is. But three facts prevent me from getting it. Brand new is 120k, over 30k my g80 build. It’s looks the same since 2009…gotta love Nissan. And the interior is what really kills me. However the GTR is a GTR. It’s not built from some 3 series platform…there’s nothing that looks like the GTR especially those beautiful rear taillights. However, a GTR is the one car that can seriously be built to kill everything on the road…honestly I’m hoping the s58 will be this decades GTR. Awd with a great motor. Not sure how much the tranny will hold and what other parts might fail as we push towards a 1000 hp. Time will tell.

Just to be devils advocate. Although the GTRs hit these numbers 10 years ago. A 2021 model are still hitting the same numbers

Yeah. Not much changing in all those years. If you ever buy one, just buy a built one from a good shop. Be done with it:-)

True lol.. Much cheaper if tires slip on outside compared to components in the tranny or elsewhere slipping. If others slip there is a high chance of breakage which would not be as cheap as the tires to replace.
