As far as Youtubers go, I'm looking forward to Throttle House, Henry Catchpole, and Rory Reid. They're some of the best as far as high-quality production journalists go. Shame we won't be getting Clarkson, Hammond, and/or May's takes on it like the good ol' days.

Yes, so amazing that they wont let a word out before they’ve already taken many many orders and enact the big tech police to silence anyone up to this point.

Objective question since I know your positon on the car very well, why do you believe they’ve held off all these months while taking orders? Its certainly going to be “better” on paper with regards to stats, so why hold out this long? I cant figure it out, truly, as its seems illogical unless you were hiding something that isnt obvious?

Just curious to how you see it

I think they will be quite good.

I also think there will be some valid criticisms of size/weight, but if the driving dynamics more than make up for it, I still think the overall reviews will be glowing.

We would like to remind you that the BMW Press Department currently has a Global Embargo in place, prohibiting anyone from publishing or posting any first driving impressions of the M3/M4. This applies in particular to video footage of anyone driving the car and providing their opinion on these products. The embargo needs to be respected and adhered to by ALL BMW Dealers, News Outlets, etc. The embargo expires on March 9th 6pm (Eastern Time) at which time you are allowed to publish, post and release any materials that you have produced. As such, the Automotive Sales department asks that dealers refrain from driving the vehicles, or offering customer test drives, as these both contribute to social media posts violating the embargo.
From Another Thread
Opps— There has been quite a few social media posts already on Bimmerpost regarding how the M3/M4 drives already. Highly doubt that all the world wide BMW dealerships and employees are aware of the global embargo.

Does it really matter, when the car is that ugly? All M3’s are great to drive, nothing will be new.

Lol that tweet. Plenty of cars can drift, both mediocre ones and exceptional ones.

From print media I'm most looking forward to reviews from Car & Driver, Motortrend, and specifically Jason Cammisa of Road & Track/Hagerty.

From Youtube, Throttle House and Savagegeese.

Who knows?!? New marketing strategy?!? Different approach?!? Some of the suppression of information doesn't make sense to me, but I don't liken that to a lackluster product or crappy reviews. Not once has the incoming car not taken performance to another level, so why should I believe that'll be the case now?!?.....because some people dislike the design language?!? I've been around long enough to have seen this behavior play out three times over. This will be the fourth time, and frankly I'm not that invested in complaining.

We already know what the reviews are going to be like

-Controversial design and front end discussion
-Growing size and weight of the “m3” and “m4”
-Lack of analog e brake
-Faster/better engine in s58
-Not as spikey as the F80 was out the gate- they took all their knowledge of the turbo inline 6 over the f8x timeline and implemented it to this car out the gate
-Better traction
-Better steering feel (considering this was a major complaint of f8x)
-Better sound but how much of it is in speaker audio vs EL mid pipe
-Better tech

In the era social media, news and opinion suppression doesn’t work and is old school. At least go with the times and start a fake news campaign...

The poster that did a review in The Boston area who drove (his) M2CS to the dealer and owns an F82 M4 will have more credibility to me than some of these guys that drive so many press-cars annually, that they can not remember what they like and dislike on any given day.

any actual lap time reviews? (Pobst, Sport Auto, Motortrend, Car and Driver). Any BMW nurburgring, hockenheim lap times coming?

Really don't care about the social media car reviewers, might as well give the car to my 12 year old ask him for an opinion at that point...

How often do you track your F80? Is there an acceptable difference in lap times that would sway you on the purchase of this car?
For example, if lets say it does a 7:57 at the ring and the new C63S does a 7:54, would that sway you in the direction of the Benz? Or would you keep your F80 if it was a few seconds slower/faster than the G80?
I'm genuinely curious.

Lap times aren't an opinion. Seems kind of strange to use latp times as your only source of possible vehicle ownership.
