The same thing happened on the F8x. Sakhir Orange was changed to Sakhir Orange II for MY2017.

Same colour, something changed in the supplier of the ingredients to make the paint. Hence the name change.

Only reason it looks dated is because you have seen it for what 6 years already. The question is once you see the G80 out after a year with this ugly grille will it still look fresh. In my opinion the G80 due to the ugly grille will not age well.
The rest of the car looks great but still love the f80 side view with more definition.

I Made the right choice. 8 weeks to go. May have to tint the windows a bit darker though.

The Competition version is released same time as the non-Comp, it is the X-drive/AWD version that comes out later in the summer.

I was disappointed that Black Azurite is not an option and was thinking I may need to go with an individual color (maybe a nice dark gray like Gun Metal Metallic) however this TB photos are incredible..I prefer the non sunlight color..love that dark blue..thanks for posting.

I have the same combo on my F80 M3 Comp. I get compliments all the time on the color. There is a slight purple hue in some lighting, but I think it's great. As one of the early guys saying the grille is hideous, it has grown on me, especially with a dark color.

I also agree that the F80 is starting to look dated, but it's still a great car. Will be interesting to see how they are both received in 5-10 years.
