Sounds like another survey in the making. For me its in spite of the grille as there aren't really any other viable coupe choices.

Had F82 M4 DCT for almost 5 years with 84,000 miles, zero issues, solid car.
Just bought a G82 6MT from a dealership showroom two days ago. G82 has improved a lot over F82!!!

I had a great experience with F82 M4. Had it for almost 5 years and absolutely zero issues. I bought a G82 M4 6MT that was in the showroom at a dealership.

This will be my first M car. I followed this car for a long time and when it came out, I wanted it. I will admit with all of the negative comments and feedback, I was scared to get one. Once I saw it in person last week, be Damn what others think. I considered a M5 but it's too much money and I really wanted a new car. Also never owned a new BMW and always purchased CPO. I am at a point in my life that I need to treat myself for once.

That will be my first M car.
I can't explain how excited I am with this experience so far...it is insane! Starting with the configuration which I basically changed a billion times because I wanted it to be perfect for me, so nice to see how much time the BMW Dealer took for me and gave me so much extras and discounts! Then he offered me to see the car in december in a closed room...also such e special event for me. Next was the incredible possibility to drive the car already in January which was very exclusive. Then this board here...it shows so much enthusiasm among people driving this car, I can't think of any manufactor having such a community like this (ok Porsche maybe and Super-/Hypercars) but this just shows how much people love and actually also live this brand, that is awesome ! I feel like a little kid who went for the first time in to a candy store and I can't wait to pick up that car and get all those impressions of owning an M car by myself. p.s. great to be on this board, it's fun and very interesting with you people here ! |

I'm glad I checked the forum first because I was about to start the same thread. The majority are prior M owners. So much for the "abandoned customer base" theory.

Poll wouldn't accept my second vote as a X5M owner as only accepted former F83 owner. I can't wait for the G83

Almost a year later and I've joined the G8X club. Never thought I would, but here I am! Bumping this to get a new batch of votes.

E92 335is (lease) -> 2015 f80 M3 (lease) -> 2020 F82 M4 comp (lease) -> G80 M3 comp xDrive (buying). The wait is killing me for the G80!

It's my first because.
I live in Chicago and I need AWD, I drive allot of miles and despite snow tires in winter on my RWD car it was very hairy in some days. RS5 was too numb and was boring. M5 AWD felt like a Boat. On BSM and carbon bits I like the front. I also like the Remote start option finally!!! In those sub zero days I am happy I will have it. The color combo Red/Black/Carbon to me is very good looking car. I am thinking of a stealth PPF to bring out the lines that BSM hides. Will see the car is yet to be delivered to me! |

Had M6 Competition GC, sold for Model 3 which I'm going to replace with a G82 M4 manual coupe I have on order. I drive a Porsche GT3 when not in an M car.
