I know I am part of a minority here, but I do not dislike the bigger grill. It sets the car apart from anything else on the road.
What I donot understand is that huge ACC radar in the middle of the vertical grill. That looks so out of place.

Misleading article suggests the production M3 front end has been leaked. It hasn't.
A certain front end, most probably the M4, has been self-evidently leaked, it's pure speculation as to whether it's the M3. I can't see any link between the front end link and the automatic assumption that it's the M3? Have I missed something ? Someone enlighten me :-)

So your only argument is that a larger pair of rear wheels just makes a car look better no matter what type of body style the vehicle is (coupé, sedan, mid-engine hypercar, high, low, rectangular/shoebox shaped or swept forward/back, boxy or slender...). This denies the single most important principle of aesthetics which is harmonious proportions, and yet pointing that out somehow makes it a personal problem? But hey, feel free to put 16" front / 21" rear on a body that's been designed for a perfectly balanced profile, I'm sure you'll love the planted look

Looking at the images they look like different designs to me. Obviously different sizes, but I would not read too much into the 19 vs 20 front to rear just yet.

People like us will most likely modify if they don't like it. I personally modified almost every car I owned and it makes the car transform tremendously. Can't wait to see final results The only thing that suck is wait. Lol

Yeah I was part of the minority who loved the 4er Concept. But the front end leak definitely took some wind out of the sails. It's just not integrated that well from what I've seen. Looks like a normal BMW front end that they slapped some tall grilles on, unlike the Concept which looked like they formed a cohesive design around the grilles.

Does anyone know if there's going to be a large weight gain? I'm expecting some with the addition of awd to the M cars but hoping weight gain is 75-100 or less. Is that unlikely?

I would guess at 200kg minimum between AWD and RWD. Probably 100kg when comparing F80 against AWD G80

I'm not confident the grilles/bumpers will be easy to swap out. Especially if they have active flaps like the G20. It at least sounds like it would be too expensive to be worth it.
That's literally the only thing holding me back from ditching my F32 for a G8x. I love most everything else and would plan on swapping aftermarket suspension/wheels/exhaust anyway. |
