They are as smug as Doug- but they deliver with real analysis. I don't get the Doug love either- probably a nice guy to meet but his weird reviewing voice hurts to listen.

All modern BMWs feel artificial, including the M2C. The willingness to rotate from the shorter chassis is what makes the M2C "special". The G8X, however, is a slight improvement in handling over the F8X because it's more precise. Still numb, but the other characteristics can make up for it for some drivers, myself included.
Its like 7er size though. Yikes!

Exactly. They're one of the few reviewers to actually put the car on a lift and analyze the underbody, suspension etc. Most other channels just read off the press release and give zero original insight on the engineering aspects. Their cynicism can be a little off-putting at times but I always look forward to their content.

Top three youtube channel imo.

Exactly, I feel confident to buy a car after watching their reviews. We need more channels like this.

I really appreciate this type of a critical yet realistic analysis and feedback. After all that's the whole point of a review.

He said "...when I saw this green color...", but I thought he was referring to the Sao Paulo Yellow color of their test vehicle as it looks like "piss", not the IOMG.

I think you're ok...lol.

I didn't get their conclusion. Did they say xdrive is worth it and transforms the car? Or just that it makes the car faster and more versatile for bad weather? They weren't this excited in their initial M3 Comp review.

My interpretation is that xdrive also makes it more accessible to those unfamiliar with this level of hp. Mark in particular sees it as a safety net but that reflects his natural preference for rwd dynamics.

I don't have to deal with very bad weather so honestly my reason for xdrive would be exactly the above, a safety net, so I don't end up in a ditch. But then again, I think I would have to try pretty hard to get to that point in a rwd.

Yeah the rear end is well behaved and loses grip fairly progressively in my limited autox experience. I won't be testing any limits on public roads.

Goddamn I didn't want to watch this video while my G82 is away from home having major surgery. What a great time they were having on the track! I regret it because now I miss my G82 more than ever.

I generally don't watch Doug's videos but I did enjoyed him on The Smoking Tire a few months ago. He seems like a good dude. Matt gets annoying though I usually go on 1-month breaks from the TST for that reason.

The track section of the video is money. People don't realize how fast these cars really are ...

All is well just getting older, that said its better than the alternative.

Been posting on the Z4 board since 2020 when the 2018 440 went back. Also the two Factory Five sites.

Small social media footprint.

I hear you- Matt and Doug are big personalities with lots of money these days. I know they love cars. And I try and enjoy their perspective.

I feel like Matt is more personable than Doug. Top of their game though.

I use to watch his vids,...but quit because his vids became more and more cynical,...as if he's smarter than BMW engineers!,...or engineers in general. At least,...well, his point of view is just an opinion of which I or most don't have to accept!

At least Doug DeMuro doesn't come off like that,...at least not to me.

Don’t hold all those engineers in too high esteem, they make mistakes too. There hasn’t been one generation of M cars without some serious engineering issue. Perhaps some things are designed to a price point with inherent weaknesses, other things are just badly designed, sometimes things aren’t accounted for real life conditions or usage. None of the cars have been perfect mechanically - could the G8x be that first generation though? We shall find out.

So yeah, these guys are a bit d!cks, but examining and/or questioning design or engineering decisions is valid.
