Is it just me or are Challenger and Charger drivers the worst on the planet? Everyone with a Hellcat seems to be blind, an idiot, or both.

Makes sense.
Their bread and butter were their 6.4L and 6.2L SC V8 engines. With how strict emissions are becoming, they have no choice. What are they going to do? Downside to a 6cyl? How would they ever exceed what they did with the V8's? I'm sure they could. But to warranty it for the customer for their standard 5 year 60k? The only way is to go EV. This is what everyone is doing. I hate to say it but after living with a tesla, this is the way (not talking about engine sounds). |

Well, it could also be that they are just going to drop sedans/coupes and focus on what makes money, SUVs, CUVs and trucks. The old chassis they have are just getting older and older and they never tried to do anything to refine the chassis to support other engines, like turbo, hybrid or whatever. They never tried to be competitive for going around a track and driving dynamics and they just seemed to try and squeeze as much life out of the old chassis as possible.

I got stuck with Charger rental at the airport once …. Has to be the worst rear / side visibility of any car on the road.

Yeah, people shouldn't be outraged or surprised. They definitely wouldn't invest in modernizing powertrains for these cars when they couldn't even be bothered to touch 20+ year old bones after getting the platform for free from Daimler.

Happened to me too. The rental-spec V6 Charger is a dog with fleas in EVERY respect. I was shocked that a car of that size and girth could have as little usable space inside as it does. Awful visibility in all directions. Handled like a pig. Just awful.

The way to go is to NOT disregard 146 years of engineering, but to supplement it with electric motor packs that can be installed in ANY car.
Same with self-driving vehicles. There is no need to make such a thing, but there IS a need to make aftermarket installable systems that will allow any car to be self-driving (starting with the Interstate). Everything should happen in phases, it's the way everything works best. |

That's a similar problem as compared to my Camaro. In SS, SS1LE, ZL1, ZL1-1LE, it's an absolute monster. The chassis is excellent with handling, feedback, dynamics, steering, etc. It punches way above it's weight and is fun to drive. But, there are drawbacks, getting in and out, people who don't want to adapt to the high belt lines or set the mirrors correctly, those that feel they need to see the hood, etc. None of these are deal-breakers for most enthusiasts looking for the performance it offers and somehow I don't hit cones during AutoX, but it also means that the V6 and I-4 models don't offer any real compelling reason to buy relative to the disadvantages. Those buyers typically aren't looking to maximize performance, they want a little sporty in all areas.
