these look great but going up to a 295 rear to fit the 11" wheel means giving up the BMW star spec tires, nobody cares about that? there is a huge difference between the star and the standard PS4S. would love to have these in a fitment that allows the oem tire specs.

I read about a huge difference and the 4 compounds, and maybe it’s because I’m not 10/10’s on the street but I haven’t noticed a difference in grip or noise on my x-drive. The meaty look of the 295 rear is worth the trade off to me.

Thanks for the link I read the whole discussion. I’ve been communicating with edelweiss and they let me know they are currently in testing with their 19/20” fitment on OEM tire specs and should be ready for sales in about 8 weeks, so I think I’m going to wait and go with that.

Fwiw - 20s on the front look absolutely brilliant with these wheels. Ride quality is not discernably different. I'm sure there's a difference in the rubber at the limit, but in street driving, I don't feel it. For the aesthetics, it's worth it.

Agree with this. I dont care about OEM star tires. My ride feels identical to stock and im lowered on KW with 20/21 set up not on OEM star tires because really i dont care. I dont track my car or beat the hell out of my car when i normally drive it. Also even if i did beat the hell out of it, most of us including myself, do not have the skills to take these tires to their limits in order for the star tires to make a difference. I have them on my stock tires so if i really feel that i absolutely positively just need the OEM star tires then i can just toss those on. Which i wont put them on.

Those rears in 21 look absolutely bonkers. Wish the roads were better here in NJ, ha.

Your G83 looks like pure sex with that drop and those wheels. Well done!

I keep going back and forth between 19/20 or 20/20 combo and get mixed reviews on ride quality.

Depends on the tire really. A tire aspect of 35 vs 30 will provide a little more cushion on the street. So 285/35 will be slightly more compliant vs a 285/30. Tire choice also plays a factor. 4s are arguably the most comfortable while providing the best grip. Maybe 4s all season is more comfy but haven’t driven on them yet. Also to note are the roads around you. Live in an urban pot hole city, it’s gonna suck but if you’re in the burbs mostly and roads are smooth, you’ll be fine.

Ok we’ll I wouldn’t worry too much about ride quality. I have zero issues. At first it’s a little stiffer, but as you get used to it I realize it’s fine… just different… and I actually like it… it feels even tighter and sharper if that makes sense. I don’t think a 35 tire will fit on a 20” wheel in the front. You’ll need a 30…but 20’a all around fit the wheel well nicely and fill out that huge gap in the front that looks like a Jeep

Thanks for the response and I was going to stay with the 19 for the front and 20 rear but 20's all around look the best. You live more north and the roads are a little rougher in certain areas. I do a lot of back road shenanigans and the roads are definitely sketchy sometimes.

I’m in nyc area and sketchy is our middle name. Potholes can send you to another galaxy. You have to be vigilant here… idk what kind of back road stuff you’d be doing in an M lol but be careful lol maybe get an actual Jeep lol 😂

Edelweiss recommends 39 PSI for the front and 40 for the rear. That is what I run for 20's all around.
