Winter tires

Hi everyone.

I have 4 tires which are 245/40/19. Do you think it can fit the G80? Sorry I am a bit cheap out( I want to see if fit or not)

Thanks

I have the same 245/40/19 as winter tyres + 8.5J/R19 Mak wheels and have no issue with this dimensions but i have also fitted 20mm spacers on back and 15mm front and i have now the same alignment as original 285/275 wheels.

Hi,I am not a tires expert. sorry about that. why do you need the 20mm spacers? I thought if your rim is 5x112 and Centre is 66.66mm should be fit. How was it in the winter season?

You don't really need the spacer per se, but if you don't have it your wheels will be really tucked in and look bad. It's more of a visual/aesthetic thing than anything else.

Exactly, only if you have higher offset but want to keep the ET20 offset look you will need the spacers.
In my case also the alloy Mak wheels was orderer wrong, as i find out center core is 66.45 on Mak Speciale 19" and BMW hub is 66.6, so i had to machine with a lathe the spacers exterior ring for 0.1mm.

Mak 19" Speciale are also ET20 so 20mm back and 15mm front are based on this wheels.

OEM-Front 275 ET20: 137.5 -20mm = 117.5mm(this is how much the tyre is out from the hub)
Mak-Front 245 ET20: 122.5 - 20mm = 102.5mm(i need 15mm added here so that the front wheel will "stick" out at the same 117.55mm as the OEM wheels.

OEM-Rear 285 ET20: 142.5 - 20mm = 122.5mm
Mak-rear 245 ET20: 122.5 - 20mm = 102.5mm(i need 20mm here)

Company from where i order spacers send me 50mm bolts for 20mm spacers and 45mm for 15mm spacers, both are 5mm longer then needed.

We haven't yet got any snow until now so i cannot compare the tyres, went with Conti 870P.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is not a run flat tyre.

The manager offer me 2100 b4 tax for tires rim warranty, do you think is worth it? I know if there is a nail on the sidewall, they replace new 1,otherwise they just patch.

I would say that depends on a few factors.

1) do you typically drive over garbage roads? I often find myself needing to replace tyres because I have constant nails on roads and have awful roads that chew up my tyres, so a warranty would be great for that.

2) do you plan on keeping the original wheels? In all likelihood, you cannot buy a set of aftermarket wheels and tyres, install them, get a nail on the sidewall, and they replace the tyre. If they do, then it’s probably a good deal. However, when I bought my car, the dealership offered me a warranty for wheels and tyres that only apply to the OEM wheels and tyres - no thanks.

Ok,I got it. Right now, it is like 50 50 to me.
The cost of tires like $500+ Canadian. However, the only worth is you get the nail on sidewall. Otherwise, it is not worth it since patch only $30-$50.
Thanks for your advise.

Yes i also notice that in auto AC you can’t turn off the fans completly, in manual AC mode you can turn off entire ventilation by turning the fans to 0.
It is my first BMW but having a Model Y before i dont have any issue with the lack of buttons.
