Next reply is "I could mod a BRZ and dump in $40K and have a much better car"

My favorite comment was "I paid $38k for my 328 15 years ago, and this is twice as much money as that!"

I used to think "except for the seats being more comfortable and the engines being more powerful, there's no way these German cars can be better than my Civic..."

Then my father got a 430i GC, and I got to drive it.

Then my mom bought an X1.

Then I bought an M340i.

Now I'm trading in my M340i for an M3 Comp.

It's my dad's fault. All of it.

G8x is an upgrade all around.
Here's an IQ test: if you could sell your E9x or F8x and get a new G8x straight up, no out of pocket, would you?

(Of course you would)

Don't you own a nice IB E92 M? Are you selling for a G8X?

I took advantage of the market and sold it.
Honestly I didn't enjoy it that much with the RB bullshit
I'm at the age where I want to start a Car drive it reasonably for a mile or two and then get on it without any worries or concerns.
Also I want to put my family in the car so the size of the new M3 is perfect. My goal is right after break in put them in the car take them out to dinner, but 10 minutes into the drive give them some thrills with no warning. Should be fun

Hear that! Went from never owning a car that wasn't American or Japanese into my F80 in mid '15; since then I'm on my 4th German vehicle and the 5th is in the works now (should be #6, but I'll avoid that discussion, save for saying there should be a GT4 in my garage now but isn't).

I'm with MachinesWithSouls in his reply here.

If I had a G80 and was offered the equivalent condition and spec E90 for an even swap, the boosted 6 would be out of the garage so fast your f'n head would spin.

I have an F80 presently - was offered a great # to turn it in for a G80 order - would have been just over a 25% loss in MSRP on my car after almost 6 years, and my msrp was very high on the F80 - higher than I would spec a G80 to. It took me all of the time required to read the email offering the quick delivery order G80 to pass on it.

Wouldn't have cost me a lot of money at all (certainly at this level of car purchase, that's relative - but if I can flip into a brand new car equal to one leaving for under 20k delta, usually it's a quickly signed deal for me).

So, there's at least 2 of us who've "failed" your IQ test.

I did, then went back to an F80. Money was not an issue.

The G82 was a wonderful performer, I just couldn’t get used to the looks. That’s just me though.

Humbly speaking, G80 M3 xDrive Competition offers the best balance between comfort, performance and price at the moment.

If the m3 xdrive was available in manual

It would be the best all around car

Sunshine or snow, you have grip
Daily driving or track, it can be done
For the price it's a very nice car in my mind.

Yes, especially if owned any F-generation car.

Latching on the xDrive argument; to me it is the perfect allround car. I was looking to maybe trading my G80 RWD for an Audi RS wagon, before ultimately going for the G80 xDrive.

The way the G80 drives is absolutely amazing to me. Every time I go out, it manages to somehow impress me.

No other driving experience for that money comes close IMO.
