Week 45 build delayed for past 90 days and now offered a week 5 build…how pathetic is

Hi guys this is beyond pathetic…. I have been patiently waiting for my car and the constant delays "Week 45 Build "due to the semi-conductor chip shortage is shocking!

My car is now 91 Days delayed due to the following :
*RAM
*CID
*BOOSTER
*MRR
*USS ECU HIGH/LOW

I specced a São Paulo yellow AWD M4 with the black calipers and the 825M bicolour black rims.

Now the dealer called me offering a new model that is a new week 5 *2022 "yes you heard right" build with a touch controller delete and no wireless charging.
Over above that it has red brake calipers which make the car look like not as an appealing car in my opinion because of the clash of yellow and red .

I told my sales agent I will wait for my original build.

I cannot fathom how in the hell bmw are making new cars and not seeing to the backlog ….also the ram of this new build could have been installed in my build that was waiting now 91 days.

It's such a shame what these guys are doing.
I honestly see no end in sight to how this sorts itself out

You can always have the calipers painted, it's like a $500 job in some places. If you can get an exact spec like that earlier, I would jump on it imo.

They will keep the production line rolling and those on the line may not be qualified to retrofit anything. Further, if staffing at the plant is anything like here it may be difficult to fully staff everything.

Sadly this has become the new norm and there are plenty of threads saying that people waiting for their vehicles for several months.

Patience is the only key in the current market.

Yeah, that's pathetic. Everything that is going on with the guys stuck in QC, V-Eight and me waiting for our cars to be built for 263 days (yes, that's 263 freaking days).

I'm seriously tired and fed up with how we've been treated!

Week 45 M4CX build here, and feeling your pain. You would think that, at minimum, someone from BMW AG would reach out and acknowledge our frustration and apologize. But, then that means they're admitting to some form of wrongdoing. Hang in there, folks.

Garage List
They know the backlog, but they're prioritizing new builds over what they perceive to be P1 customer orders. The problem is that a good many of them are not truly P1 and the dealers have only put customer names on them to get them to the lot faster. I told that to a manage at BMW USA and she told me that wasn't the case, but I had proof for her.

No, those were all the estimated weeks that I was given and the bump from the original week 45.
