Assuming XHP doesn't overwrite all the TCU tables, could maybe go with CS/CSL gearbox tune plus XHP Stage 1 which removes torque limiters. Just a thought..

I would guess that the xhp tune does overwrite the entire tcu tune but there’s only one way to find out…

I would also guess that the CS/CSL tune adjusts the torque limiter and line pressures as I no longer experience the bogging down during shifts described in the video.

If I get a chance I’ll try running map 3 on E30 and see if the bogging reappears at higher power levels.

Hmmm, on top of the tranmission, steering, and MDM, I'm wondering if the suspension is worth it if you buy the M3CS parts.

The only differences seem to be the springs, dampers, and anti-rollbar. You can get the anti-roll bar for under $300 no issue. And maybe I'm wrong, but the springs and dampers just seem to be the M Performance HAS kit. Which my car already has, as I optioned it. So if I get the CS front anti-roll bar, maybe the suspension tune would be viable as technically I would have the CS suspension?

what are the details of the front CS sway bar? if its thicker...in general if i recall correctly, a thicker bar will create more understeer....?

I'm not sure on the exact specifics, at the very least it is thicker. That being said, I doubt BMW would put something that makes the car handle worse on the one that's supposed to (and has been reviewed to) handle better

The believe Ive read that the CS struts mount differently than the comp. So there are some differences other than just springs and sway.

Hmm, I wonder in what way they are mounted differently. Like if it's completely different parts, or something a bit easier. I think I heard something about camber plates too

Still on the fence about only doing transmission flash. Not many people have posted any dragy or track related benefits.

Just had the full CS software put on my g82 comp xdrive, as per above comments it’s totally changed the car for me.

Faster shifts, no redline hang, a slight bit more aggressive.
I also find the steering to be a nice improvement.

P.S I’ve also noticed faster dragy times

I normally don’t really bother to endorse things, but you guys will definitely want the CS tranny flash. It is night and day. Very fast yet smooth. If I didn’t know , I would think the car had the DCT from the F80. I no longer have a desire to bother with the xhp flash. Best mod for the money on the car thus far. Thanks @kubax86

+1 brother. I really feel like this is the best bang for the buck mod.

Reading through the xhp thread it seems most people want the xhp tune to feel like the cs tune. I’m sure at some point a current xhp adopter will make the switch and then we’ll get a comparison between the two tunes. Can’t see myself switching, as the cs tune is that good, but who knows…

If I had a windows laptop I would try and compare with XHP stage 3 thats currently on the car.

Will ask a couple friends to see if I can borrow one.

I used my Mac running boot camp and the install was super quick. No issues.

I'm very tempted to do the transmission flash and this feedback is helpful. On the fence about the steering, can you provide any more detail regarding the upgrade, vs stock? Thanks!

No real power adders. Just a AA single midpipe and MST intakes.

So what, comprehensively, does this change?

Gearbox map - yes
Steering map - yes?
Nothing powertrain wise?
Anything else?

The steering just loads up better and provides more feedback.

I’m going to get the alignment done to match the CS too I think.

I did put a quick video on YouTube too and you can hear the gear changes are quicker on that
