Whatever, it’s a tank of gas. So xm renegged on a free 1 year, if it’s that important just pay it. I’m so glad I’m not in sales, I hate people

I presume this is a deal Sirius previously made to get their radios into cars when they first started. They were saying hey BMW/auto manufacturers, look at this cool thing we can put in for free. BMW probably doesn't pay anthing for it, Sirius does it to get more subscriptions and recoup costs that way.

I'll bet the marketing team at Sirius found that giving 1 year subscriptions doesn't add to the number of customers, so they are downgrading the free offer.

I agree about escalating it to their customer service if it's something that matters to you, as it was promised on the original car sticker.

How did you get this screen? Did you have to call Sirius, or were you able to just enter your radio id?
I initially got an email from Sirius right after I got my car that asked if I wanted to set up my free Sirius subscription that came with the car. Went through the prompts then activated it. No clue. The screenshot is from me just logging in and going to my account. Maybe it's because I a new customer (didn't have Sirius in my previous car)… dunno just spit ballin here. Definitely never have called though.

I think your missing the point. It's not about money, it's about deception. If you were a dealer you would tell the customer to go pound sand? Very short going concern for sure.

I just got my new M4CxDrive that comes with a 1-year subscription based on the sticker, website and even SiriusXM website. But it's not true anymore.

After 4 conversations with SXM, BMW Genius and my local dealership I found out that it looks like the BMW contract with SXM expired or was somehow canceled/changed. All new BMW cars have only 3 MONTHS of trial, not 1 year, even when all marketing says 1 year.

Let's hope they will fix this problem soon, but for now, we will have to pay for it after 3 months.
I had this same fight with my new 2022 M4. My dealer got involved and I finally got the 1 year trial that I was supposed to get. The whole thing was a PIA that was compounded by my RAM module stop sale preventing my car from even showing in SIRUIS' system.

See my prior post. I had the same problem. Dealer has to call them and set up the radio. This is affecting people who had the RAM stop sale.

My Sirius is working, just can't add my radio to my account. I think I'll just wait to see if it's still working once I hit my 3 month mark.

I can't either. I'll just set up a new account for this car when the free trial ends (assuming I renew SIRIUS).

Sirius has been playing this game since the e46 days. You'll need to keep trying different reps until you get someone who listens.

Yeah, they are hard to deal with. Over the phone, and their web system. Pisses me off I can subscribe online, but have to call to cancel. I "kinda" like their service, but these other issues will probably result in me not extending past the free trial. My wife can't live without it, so we'll continue to subscribe on her car.

Had the 12 month, then suddenly stopped 2 weeks ago. BMW NA and Dealer were useless. Contacted XM corporate and got a 3 month trial and will call in Feb to get another 3 month trial, so worked out OK after I did all of the work. No one knows why--including XM. They show only an initial 3 month when I got the car 4/24--although it went 6+ months before it cancelled. It was advertised--on the MSRP, and I want it, so went to the trouble to get an equitable solution. Nothing to do with money, only principle.

Did you have a RAM stop sale by chance?

I bet the take rate is very low, everyone has streaming audio on cell phones and Sirrus/XM is painful to work with if you want to cancel.

Was just saying pointing the finger at the dealer for every little thing makes no sense for those who do.

I would honestly refuse delivery of my car unless the dealer is willing to pick up the tab. Sorry, that is a blatant lie like others have said.

I can't wait for the class action also. Heads are going to roll

Imagine saying everything 'was a tank of gas' which is now like $60. We'd all be broke in 6 months.

This rationalization doesn't fly

This happens on vehicles that have the RAM stop sale, and BMW can rectify the issue. It might be a pain for your CA/dealership to find the right person at BMW to get it done, but I know for a fact that each region has an individual who can get it straightened out.

No. My dealer got it from Crevier--virtually exactly as I would have ordered. Strangely, came without XM even showing in media. Dealer had to jump through loops with BMW NA to get it up. But--ran fine until recently. As I said, BMW and Dealer were useless to get it back up for free. Fortunately, XM Corporate had a great CS lady. Expect others will be having problems soon.

So interesting what consumers think and the level of cheapness in general.

You think that when you spend a 100k they can take of a 60 dollar feature correctly…that's another way to think about it.

I love people like you making comments like that, some people value principles, not necessarily the 60-100 dollars or whatever. And you know what, the people that value their 60-100 dollars. That's their money. They paid for something, they should get it. Bmw should do everything to make it right and apologetic for making it an inconvenience for the customer who just oh spent 90-100k with them.
