Glad you got your answer.
Yeah, the small far left connector is for when you want to power the USW with an aftermarket amp.
If you're using the factory booster, you simply connect the 2nd from the left connector (2 green, 2 white) with the far right connector - basically a pass thru.
There's a separate (not pictured) connector you wire to a LOC and connect to the 2nd from the right connector.
It'll all make sense once you receive the harness.

Thank you my friend. Question. Does turning off active sound REALLY turn it off? Someone mentioned that they still heard theirs even with it disabled in bimmercode.

Also, what enclosures are you all using? I have a JLW6 12" and in a sealed box. I had it in my F80 years back. But I really dont want that big honking box in there. I would prefer a custom corner box, but have yet to find one (I had he musiccar stealth box in my E92, LOVED THAT).

Im tempted to get one of those all in on subs that seem to be smaller in size than what I have now. I just dont know where to mount it and it look clean as possible.

Ugh, we need a corner stealth box for the G series!!!

I haven't tried turning it off thru BC yet.
Last time I checked, there was a mention about having to use the beta version?

We sure do. Hopefully there'll be an aftermarket offering soon.

Thats pretty much the only thing holding me back from doing this. My JL W612" box is a single box, but its bigger than most of those all in one units. I just dont want to have to strap it down in there to keep it from moving around. I had it in my F80 and had it pinned down with straps. It just didn't look very nice and I had to remove it every time the wife and I would road trip vacation to so we could fit out suitcases. Or two golf club sets.

A nice stealthbox would circumvent all of that.

Wait, does this mean you can replace the underseat subs with something like the Ghosts and then drive them with your own (assume bigger) amp, without screwing with the rest of the system? Wouldnt that solve some of the issues with bass?

Correct. The harness allows you to amp your stock subs if you choose too. I tried that with my F10 M5 years ago and while it made them cleaner sounding, they still didn't bump as good as I expected them to sound with an AMP. I ended up moving the amp back to a separate sub in the back.

Understood. So more power good but doesnt necessarily solve the problem.

I did order the ghosts anyway using 15% promotion, figure for $500 and 100 day returns it's worth a shot. I also am running the B&W codecs so maybe the increased bass helps with upgraded underseats.

It didnt in my case on my F10 M5. Thinking back about it, Im not sure the stock seat subs OHM was a good match either. I could be wrong. But I seem to think I remember the stock sub speaker ohm being a problem.

That pigtail might be better to use with aftermarket seat subs with an OHM rating that most car amps will accept.

Keep me posted on the ghost subs. Ive heard mixed reviews about them. Some say its much cleaner and better sounding. Some seemed disappointed. Keep us posted on those!

After waiting for forever, it seems, myself for a custom corner box. I just decided to build ones my self an just ordered all the parts and some eBay trunk trims in case things go side ways (and I'm still waiting on my car to get delivered but shhh!). Getting most of it in this week. I was thinking of doing a build log and or a video on it have to self justify my GoPro purchase so might as well put it to use.

Please share the build!
Back in the day when I was a lot more passionate about custom DIY jobs, I built a fiberglass enclosure + amp rack for my C6.
It was tedious but fun and very rewarding.
I guess I just got old and lazy lol
I got parts lying in my garage that I'm too lazy to install on the car.

But please share your build, it's always fun watching someone else's project
It might inspire me to build my own as well.

I emailed BAVsound about a G80 stealthbox like they had for the E and F series. They said it should be out sooner than later!

Right! I loved my E92 one. It looked 99.9% factory OEM. I will be buying one FOR SURE. I just hope they make it a 12" and not a 10". I already have a nice JL W6 12" ready to go.

My setup in my 2018 M4, 2022 M4 soon

Here is a pic of how I did it. I used a Class D amp (cool running) from RF- T750x1bd. I paired it with an LC2i to bring the line level up from a tap into the speaker system, and had a local installer do the work. I removed it from my old M4 and will be installed on my new one this coming Wednesday.

If you are looking for deeper bass than OEM woofers then replace the OEM woofers with SWS-8Xi and power them with the AudioControl acm-2.300. No need for a LOC or a trunk sub.

If you rather have a trunk sub then keep the OEM woofers, get a JL Audio 10W6v3-D4 (2ohms configuration) and power the sub and the OEM woofers with an XD500/3v2. OEM woofers should be set for 60Hz HP, sub for 80Hz LP.
