The RS5 is a $75k 2021 car with a 4+ year old interior. Shame they couldn't have updated it to align with the RS6 etc. Great comfy cruiser though and super fast from a dig, I expect Audi will lose a lot of customers once the xdrive M3 is available though. I was looking at them but they only really used to offer a better interior and now they don't even do that, so unless you want comfy and quiet there's not much reason to buy it over an M3/4.

This is a fairly informal test. In all fairness, the vehicle used is also not a facelifted RS5 by all means. I suspect the interior is facelifted.

With that said, Audi RS's will always be straight line cruisers. BMW M has a different ethos altogether.

Just a slightly bigger touchscreen now. The iPad in a dash look just ages a car for me as it's been the default for the last 10 years. Still no doubt a lovely place to be.

Looking forward to the xdrive vs Quattro drag runs this summer though, not that M cars have ever needed to compete, but still gonna be fun to watch them lose nonetheless

He drove like he was drunk in the M4 such a ragged lap and still took down the AWD RS5. He is right, the M4 is a weapon.

On the other hand, the RS5 is on a old dated platform, had worn shoddy (says Joe) tires and is also down 66 hp which is huge. On that twisty track, I expected better of the BMW.

On the drag race, looks like the G8x RWD suffered the same problem as the F8x in its inability to gain traction from naught. Still though, after the bad start I expected the G8x to begin to reeled the RS5 in a lot sooner than it did. Not sure where all the extra hp of the bimmer went? Not impressed as the RS5 didn't even break a sweat. The AWD G8x should make it a close race though.

Doubt it, the RS5 will be killed by the AWD M4.

Interesting to see what the 3rd drag race brought in terms of closer results. A RWD car racing a AWD car from a dig is pretty obvious in regards to out of the hole traction.

Slightly annoying he didn’t do a rolling race. Anyone could have guessed off the line results. Man being a YouTuber is just such hard work these days.

I've driven the RS5 and found it quite boring. The Sportback has some appeal, but it's driving dynamics were outmatched with even the F80. It's main advantage is comfort.

From an aesthetic point of view, there is an obvious reason to go for the RS5

I much prefer the M4 from aesthetic point of view

One of the other YouTubes (I think throttle house or Carwow) does the same race (with a C63 in the mix) but adds a rolling start as well. As expected, the RS5 killed them both from a dig, but the M4 took out both the C63 and RS5 in the rolling start

RS6 interior is indeed more modern and relevant. I am sure Audi will update at some point. But M4 is still a winner.

I know everybody's mileage varies, but I have always found Audi interiors busy despite the industry considering them modern.

I love M4's body compared to this Rs5, but still trying to get used to M4's butterface.

Agreed. I'm bailing on the new G8x and going to Audi for DD duties. BMW lost its mind with that design IMO.
