Do you follow the break-in guidelines?

Just wondering how religiously people follow the "up to 1200 miles" guidelines from BMW, which says:

Up to 1,200 miles/2,000 km
Drive at varying engine and road speeds, but do not exceed 5,500 rpm and 106 mph/170 km/h.
Avoid full load or kickdown under all circumstances.

I think I took mine to 5000-6000rpm a few times (in 1st gear) and I feel kind of 'guilty' for doing that.

But man, this thing REALLY wakes up at 4000rpm (and a bit scary to be honest)

Now that European Delivery has ended I won't be able to drive it on the Autobahn or Nürburgring. So I'm sure I'll follow the break-in guidelines a little better this time

I lost a tire to a pot hole at about 800 miles in my G82. Took the car to the dealership to get replacement. They advised that the car was already eligible for the 1200 mile service. Since it was already in the shop I told them to go ahead and do it. If that doesn't tell you how strict they are about it, I don't know what will.

You want moderate load on the engine up to 5.5k rpm or so, then use lots of engine braking the first 100-200 miles.
