Planning Performance Center delivery and then five or six days of sightseeing and driving (will have to take it into the dealer for the 1200-mile service when I get home). I'm eager to have an idea of when it will be delivered to the Performance Center so I can block out my calendar with vacation.

I've seen mention of the website being behind actual status. Is that confirmed?
I've heard the same thing about the website. Don't you have a scheduled build week? My CA sent me that after he got the order in. It was on the form he got back from BMW. I'm in the same place trying to figure out when the PCD will be, although I'm assuming they can't really schedule it until maybe the car is on the truck from the port to the PC because of variable port times. I'm expecting to have maybe a week or 2 warning?

See my previous post about 2 up. Mine sat in production begins for 5 days which was painful in itself. I called the Genius and was given a completion date of 3/29 which sounded optimistic to me, but was correct. I find I check the status more frequently as it moves further through the process.

He told me a build week in May (thought he said 18th, but perhaps it was the 16th), but when he texted me a picture of the order printout the production date field was blank.

On PCD, I was under the impression that they give you a lot more notice than that. They probably bake some cushion into the schedule, but I was led to expect a call no later than the time it enters production, and it sounded a lot sooner. They need to book you a room at the hotel, among other things. I guess if you want to get the car at the earliest possible date, maybe you can wait until it's on a ship. I would rather not have to pay last minute airfare or have to do a ton of calls and meetings on the way back.

I just called the Genius. They said it can't be scheduled until the car is actually at the PC. Who knows far out the schedule after that.

Interesting. I was starting to consider doing PCD but if I have to wait for it to arrive stateside first before even being able to schedule the PCD experience then I'm out. I'm sure that timing will be several weeks out, if not months if a lot of people are going that route.

So you all can relate, my production started March 9, and was in transit to the east coast on March 23. Before my car started production they asked for 3 dates that would work around the end of May or beginning of June. My car is set to hit the VDC around April 10 but my PCD date isn't until May 28. So it's close to a months worth of extra waiting for me. But I used a broker so I wasn't willing to drive all the way across country to bring my car home from the west side

Interesting. My CA said he just submitted the into to the PC today (car is on the way to the port), but also when I talked to the Genius today as I mentioned above they said it couldn't be scheduled it until the car was already there. I'm not going to wait an extra month to pick up my car to get the PCD experience. I'd take the car at my dealer a month sooner than the experience. Of course, I can't have it get to the PC, them tell me it'll be an extra month and then request it be shipped to my dealer instead. It'd be nice to know the real story. Yours is obviously real, but they gave me the different story today, although I'm not always convinced they know what they are talking about. Last time I was trying to schedule my delivery the day before M school, which was happening on a fixed date. It took A LOT of work from my dealer and me to get them to get the car there, but it was at the PC for pickup a week after it arrived in port.

Perhaps I'll just call the PC and see what version they give me.

BMW Genius was spot on and my car is done with production! I just checked it and it's "awaiting carrier assignment" now. It has moved a lot the last couple of days with it moving 6 dots just today which is a lot but cool as every time I logged in it had moved at least 1 dot. Hopefully it doesn't take long to get to port and hopefully I don't have to wait long for a ship.

I did notice that the Genius hot line and the MyBMW site don't correlate together with the Genius hotline being behind in the status bar compared to the MyBMW page. When I called earlier the hotline still said it was in the paint shop.

People seem to sit in that step for five days or so.

Mine was in quality check for 5 days but two weeks sounds painfully long. Have you called the genius?

When people are citing week X builds, is the week when it's estimated to be completed or estimated to begin production?

I was told it was the week it was supposed to be completed. I was scheduled for week 13 which is apparently this week. It was finished Monday.

After placing my order in September for a non-HEA g80, finally picking it up tomorrow! When I checked in with BMW genius, they mentioned after my car arrived at the VPC on March 26th, the car wouldn't be ready for pickup until April 5th at the earliest.

Overall experience, my delivery was about 1 week behind schedule from the original timeline. Long story short, you can never over-check the status of your car!

I have been stuck in the dispatched from factory stage since 4-1. I wonder if all the delays people have been talking about is even backing up to where the port can't even except anymore cars due to no room? This could be painful for all of us, but I sure hope it's just all talk and we get our cars soon.

You can take a look at the number of cars at the port in near real time. On the left is one lot and further in the distance on the other side is another. Looks like it could be a multi-story one.

Quite a bit of backlog.

Well I thought my status would change this morning but I was disappointed. Day 6 of "quality check". Guess they are so backed up the cars are just sitting in the factory and aren't even being shipped to the port.
