I just got my allocation over the weekend and scheduled for a week of May 16th build. Obviously I'm not expecting a miracle and for it to move into production in the next week or two but would it be reasonable that it could potentially move into production sometime in late April instead?

And to confirm, the May 16th week is the week it should finish production versus starting if I've read the various tracking threads correctly?
I don't know if often is the right word but it definitely seems like there are a fair amount of people on here who have had their dates moved up some. Some by maybe a few days like mine and some even a few weeks. Can't hurt to be hopeful. I know I was.
Definitely lots of hope floating around in my head!
I went from week 10 to 12 to 13 to 15 and mine just started last Friday, I think I may have gotten moved up a week to 14. I think right now it's week 12, assuming 2 weeks to complete.
That is a lot of jumping around. Were you changing your build at all which would have caused changes like that?

I have seen quite a few get moved up early in the forums including myself and I have a manual allocation and there was some worry that the manual allocations were getting pushed back in favor of the comps. I am pleasantly happy as it seems I'm about 2 weeks ahead of schedule currently so yes keep up the hope that you gain a week or 2 maybe more! Good luck!

I changed the color from Brooklyn grey to black to green but this was done before I changed from status 111 to 112. I changed colors in December and again in February. I think there was a carbon seat shortage.

I decided to call BMW Genius just to see what they had for me as far as finish time now since it started early and they told me it's scheduled to finish April 12th now which I found odd as that will be 21 days in production? I have no special paint or anything like that. That seams an awfully long time in production?

Finally my status changed to "In transit". The next seven days will be the slowest speed this car will ever move. Enjoy your cruise, we have a lot of driving to do.....

Mine also hit "in transit" today. Might be on the same boat. Fingers crossed. They were estimating a late May early June pick up date for me so it's way ahead of schedule

Unless I'm mistaken, "In Transit" means it's on its way from the port to your dealership. "Dispatched from Factory" is when it's left the factory to get on a boat going from from Germany to the US.

Woah, that is way ahead of schedule. I can only hope mine can get fast tracked like that!

7 days? So jealous of your east coast folks. Mine left the port in 3/17 and won't even hit panama until 4/5…

Dispatched from factory means it is going to the exiting port. In transit means that it is assigned to a vessel and is on its way to the arriving port

My car has been "at the port" for 3 days and no vessel assigned (East Coast Delivery). Fingers crossed similar to you it gets a vessel quickly but the waiting with no daily progress kills me!

congrats on getting it assigned on a ship. Wont be long now

My status changed to “at the port” today. The next few weeks will definitely be hard as there are only 2 dots left on the website tracker 😂😂

I've been at the production begins status since Monday and have checked about 12 times a day and call the Genuis line at least once per day to see if it's moved to the next step lol. Not sure how long it takes to move off of that step but it sure is exciting to see when each step changes. When you log in and it moves a dot it's like Christmas lol.

On the other side hopefully that ship that's blocking the Suez Canal doesn't affect raw materials and shipping of cars for people.

I can now take some time off. My car is on a ship for the next 25 days. I can see progress until it gets to UK, but then, the next port of call is in Southern California. I'll be able to get status when it nears the Panama Canal, but that's all. Even I am not crazy enough to pay for satellite tracking to watch it move at 12 knots across the ocean.

True, just gotta wait until it ships. It’s currently “at the port” BMW Genius said it can take up to 2 weeks for a vessel assignment ☹️

There are two vehicle carrier ships at the port -

RHEA LEADER (just left) - https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels...MMSI-432664000
TANNHAUSER l(leaving 03/26/2021) - https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels...MMSI-265827240

If status updates to "In transit" in the next couple of days, it'll be on one of these.

I was in production begins for 5 days. I heard someone else say the same thing. Then I jumped 2 steps to paint booth and have been stuck there for 2 days. They allege that it's going to be done by 3/29 even with the special paint. We'll see...

This is awesome! Thanks for providing the links!
It’d be nice if the car made it on one of these vessels - will check if the status changes on the tracker in the coming days.
