I see more M3s and M4s on PCH than I do Honda Civic SEs

If my local dealer wanted 20% over MSRP, I'd be waiting until they didn't. There's no way I'd pay that.

A few years ago I saw $50K over MSRP on a Mustang (GT500, I think or maybe GT350R) and laughed at them. Different dealer, of course.

BMW of Buena Park had a $10k markup on all of their M3's and M4's and the salesperson told me they were supposed to have a $20k markup. Was told a different BMW dealer in the area has a $15k markup on all of theirs. Out of state, people are paying under sticker for these so looks like I'll be jumping on a plane and road tripping home.

I haven't seen anyone getting under sticker for a purchase, only for a lease, but I could be wrong

This was my experience with my first two BMWs, the third one I found a great CA. Beverly Hills BMW and Rusnak were some of the grimiest and they acted like they were paid hourly to not make a deal. I think finding a good broker could be the way to go as well. The salesperson I purchased my F80 from left the dealership and became a broker. When I purchased a car from him when he was still with the dealership, I was in and out of there in under an hour.

10% off sticker is the new BMW standard. Don't drive the price up! This car isn't special and it isn't limited production. Stick to your guns and the prices will drop like a rock in no time.

Dealerships are so unnecessary, seriously!

One Dealer I reached out has only one M5 for sale, I asked if I could have more details about the black F90... Well....I lost him...

Here the original response...

I'm not sure I know what you are referring to when you asked for F90 pricing?

Historically, you'll always get your best deal when you're here in person.

Dealership is 3h one-way...

Ha! That’s a lie...
Historically I always get the best deal working with online sales. Odd...
Maybe I’ve been doing it all wrong.

Time is money right? 6 hours total round trip, 10 hours being sequestered between sales, sales manager, finance, post sales wrap up... no thanks

Same thing happened to me. I reached out to inquire about G8X availability and the response was, "G8X is a phone are you sure you were trying to reach a BMW dealership?" They clearly had to Google what it was and that's what they came up with. Useless.

The dealership experience is almost a reason in and of itself to buy a Tesla.

I had the worst experience trying to buy a model S performance because I couldn't wait for the M3. The salesperson never followed up with me and the financing was horrible (they wanted like 80% downpayment). I told them I want a new salesperson and they refused and kept their $100 deposit. They treat you like animals because they know everyone wants a tesla they have no manners.

Similar thing happened to a buddy he walked down the street and bought a M5 instead.

Interesting...

I really thought buying a Tesla would be straight forward and all online?

Yea they are pretty new to the selling cars game so youre not always gonna get great salespeople. Service is a bit of a mess too from what ive heard.

I remember buying my 2009 BMW IB/DCT E90 LCI M3 in Fall 2008, during the great recession and gas hovering around $4-5/gallon. At the time, Crevier BMW tried to charge me a huge marketing and advertising fee <$1500, in addition to the 100 mile drive each way to Santa Ana.

I would also wait for a special edition M3/M4 or looking into a European Delivery, plus the East/West Coast Performance Center pickup. Flights are cheap.

BMW ///M cars now have much more competition from Audi RS, Mercedes Benz AMG, Porsche, and Lexus F V8 models now than they had 5-15 years ago.

Cheers
Can confirm, Santa Monica BMW's first is $15,000 over sticker.

But do we know these cars are actually moving? The ones I'm aware of in LA that have moved all came from one dealership at MSRP.

Well that is Santa Monica... BMW’s are like... for poor people and stuff...

If you make <$200k, you’re “poor” LOL

Disclaimer- I’m kidding in case people get their feelings hurt.

The M4 at Steve Thomas sold. AFAIK there’s no entitlement markup there. They have a Tanz M4 that’s really nice.

yeah but you don't need to pay MSRP or a mark up if you ask the right questions.
