F8x wheels fit G8x?

I have a full size spare I carry in the trunk of my F82. I've ordered a G80, will the wheel fit?

My basically new set of 19" Apex EC-7's that I got last year for my M2C almost made me seek a used F80 or 82 instead of going with a G80. But I was seduced by IOMG. And the power trunk.

I'm really curious why BMW decided to change that.

Agree, also curious what the reason behind such changes is...
Maybe just „needed" changes of the CLAR platform, or they want you to buy some new wheels from them and/or to fire up the aftermarket again :

just a follow up question...

If the fronts are 19" and the rears 20", does it matter which size I get for a spare?

Nope. Can be any size as long as it clears the brakes.

Even though the wheel specs changed, shouldn't there be a spacer setup that allows you to swap g8x wheels onto the f8x/e9x?
