So I was offered $500 off MSRP, plus my $500 loyalty means this will put me at $1,267 including taxes with an $1,760 drive-off assuming the same MF as my X7 last year. Granted they can't lock-in the rates now for a Spring delivery, but I'll probably still do it. I'm just going on the record to say it's quite annoying that I could get into an M5C (much bigger discount and better residual) for the same money, or wait another year to get the same car for less than $1k/mo and feel better about myself... Oh well. I suppose I spend $300+ more a month on many different things that are much worse.

That's a really expensive payment. I guess being a first-mover has a price. Looks like I'll wait a little. Thankfully I have the x3m to hold me over.

Those residual numbers are horrible; you're basically paying to rent the car for around roughly 50% of its MSRP cost, in 36 months..

I guess the G8Xs isn't going to be the leasing darling that F8Xs were, you have to buy it if you really want it..

All good things..

If BMW is sharing lease rates they expect the cars to be sellable to customers sooner rather than later, chatter about holds at port till February or March seems unlikely

This!

An M3 or M4 no matter how well equipped needs to stay below 1k...

Cool. My M8 lease is the same as a new M3/4.

Yeah I'd hold back if possible. That's an extra $10k that you probably won't have to pay after BMW realizes this things aren't flying out of the dealership.

I've always owned my cars and this is the first time I'm actually considering a lease (based on good F8X lease rates). But it looks like I'm more than likely going to buy again specially that I expect to drive ~5k miles per year.

5% hit on residual and no discounts or incentives. Add in a grill that isn't universally loved and you better PRAY you have a new set of customers for this car because one of the main reasons I got
2 F80's in a row was the great lease deals that couldn't be beat by the competition.

Use this month's MF not last year's.

My exact feelings, why not get an M5 at that price faster and better looking car.

People are looking at this backwards and not taking a longer view than literally the intro month when there are no cars available....

I view the low rates as bmw cashing in on the early adopters. This is actually good for normal consumers who were going to wait anyway.
Usually the dealers get to keep all the ripoff of the "gotta have it crowd" in the form of ADM and MSRP sales, this should force dealer pricing to normalize faster and inevitably these rates will line up with the standard model counterparts as they always do a bit after launch.
