When you say "sluggish" are you running it without paddles and in lower shift modes? Does it feel different when paddle shifting and the shift setting all the way up?

I'm curious as to how much slower the shifting/acceleration may feel compared to the great DCT in my F82.

I've got a 6 speed. It just doesnt feel as torquey down low

I think full torque is avail in 3rd and up iirc.

Sounds like a jb4 might be in my future.

That’s by design the S58 is meant to be that way. It a better track/almost NA feeling engine. The S55 was a torque happy motor down low but it made it a handful at the track if you weren’t on top of it. But it also meant that it wasn’t as good at the top of the rev range.

This S58 is the opposite it has enough torque but it also wants to be run to redline and at least in my experience (2400 miles) so far it is an awesome engine I’m always looking for an excuse to chase the redline.

Has anyone had any issues with the car not locking automatically after leaving (with the option turned on). I’ve had this happen a few times which I haven’t really found the reason as to why. Found the car unlocked last night when going out for a smoke.

I’m inching on closing the driver door before the passenger is able to get out (G82).

Also, I’m hearing a lot of noise coming from I wouldn’t say the suspension itself but the control arms??...when turning the wheel fully left or right when going to parallel park etc.

I also can not for the life of me get my media to display in the HUD anymore, not sure what I did but I recall seeing it during my genius run-down at the dealer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Stuff i’m noting for my breakin service.

On the lock/unlock piece, I have that happen quite a bit, I think the key is very sensitive to being in the same pocket as your phone. Often if my key is next to my phone it won't recognize when I get to the car/won't lock when I walk away etc. I've had it happen on other cars as well, something to do with interference.

Also, I don't know if it has been mentioned.......but, is the bolt pattern the same as the F8X?

No. The G8X is based on the new CLAR architecture.
The new wheel pattern is
PCD: 5x112 VS 5x120mm
CB: 66.5 mm VS 72.56mm
Thread: M12x1.5 mm VS M14x1.25mm

From everything I gathered it's an option that can be ordered.

The car comes with 2 fobs and a credit card wallet key.

I'm not sure about US vehicles but here its thrown in with the ultimate package that gives you gesture controls and the like.

Gave her part throttle to 5k today in s+ and holy hell if this thing isn't a rocket.

I can't even believe how rapid it is.

In the UK we get the credit card key (Digital Key Card) with the Comfort Access option (code S0322)

That could be possible! FYI this is what it says on the UK configurator for the Comfort Access option:

Comfort Access
Comfort Access enables access to the vehicle without having to actively remove the key from a pocket or bag. Sensors detect the proximity of the key to the vehicle and allow doors to be unlocked by holding the door handle closest to the key. Locking is done by touching the ribbed section of the door handle when the key in not inside the vehicle.

Comfort Access comprises keyless access to the vehicle through all doors and the bootlid.

A welcome light is activated when approaching the vehicle from a distance of approximately three metres.

Automatic unlocking functions at approximately one metre and locking at approximately two metres.

A Smart Opener for the bootlid allows a sweeping movement of the foot underneath the bumper for automatic opening and closing of the bootlid.

A BMW Digital Key can be used for locking/unlocking and starting the vehicle using a compatible Apple smartphone as the vehicle key (available for the lifetime of the vehicle) (not available with manual transmission). Up to five BMW Digital Keys can be shared with trusted users along with one Digital Key Card.

Available as part of the Comfort Pack.

It does state not available with manual transmission, so I think you're right.

On the auto lock, one thing that might be doing it - just noticed this in my car - is that you can only have one profile assigned to each key. Mine was set on my key as main profile, but when I put the phone in the tray it flips it to guest profile. I am probably going to make the phone my main profile and have the key fob be the "guest" profile.

However, if both your main profile and guest profile are not set to auto lock when leaving, if it flips to the guest when you are driving it wouldn't necessarily have that feature. I literally just noticed yesterday that I was frequently driving under the "guest" profile instead of my name. I'm pretty sure that it defaults to the profile assigned to the phone when it's in the tray - which is where mine usually is - so will be switching to have the phone be my profile and the key be guest.

I very rarely use the phone in tray. But i’ll look into those settings I can not recall right now which way way I was setup when this happened to me.
