How many miles do you drive per year on average? Also I'm not 100% sure but I thought I read some where that your zip code or where you park your car can also make a difference (i.e. in a garage, street parking, high theft area, etc)

I think i tell them 8,000 on my BMW, 7000 on my Jeep. That's probably pretty close to ballpark of correct. Car is parked in the garage, good neighborhood, no theft. Normal middle class Ohio town

Currently insured with USAA for over 25 years. I am 55 and my wife is 56 with no accidents or claims on our auto policy. We reside in north San Diego County. Currently have a 2018 BMW M5 F90, 2012 GTI Autobahn, 2008 Tacoma DC Off-Road 4x4, and 2018 BMW R1200GSA. Full coverage for all vehicles.

The M5 is listed on the policy at being used 5k miles a year. Six month premium is $871. Adding a 2021 M3 Competition with mileage being set a 5k miles a year the six month premium is $823.

Level of deductible is $500/$500, $1,000,000/$1,000,000 bodily injury, and $500,000 property damage.

I am also considering a 2021 Porsche 911 S and the 6 month premium is $868 and the 911 costs $155k. In case anyone is interested how a 2021 C8 Corvette Z51 compares, the six month premium for me is: $659.

Like you I have been with USAA for just over 25 years. I would say over the past 5-7 years the rates at USAA have increased. I retired from the military (USMC) back in 2004 and entered my current profession (Police Officer). When graduating from the police academy there was a representative from some insurance company that provided insurance to people that worked in public safety. I mentioned I was insured with USAA and the representative quickly stated I cannot match their rates.

Location plays a big part in how much your rates will increase. I am originally from Baltimore and was thinking about moving back to the northeast portion of the city. I called USAA and gave them the zip code I was considering and my rates would almost double from what I was paying for San Diego County. I provided a zip code for Baltimore County approximately 10 miles outside of the city limits and my insurance would have been cheaper then what I was paying in San Diego County.

Back in 2012 I had a new Corvette Z06/Z07 and I was paying just over $700 a year for full coverage insurance. Currently I have been working as a Motor Officer / Accident Investigator for my agency since 2010. When I switched to USAA I was a SSgt (E-6) in the USMC and it was the entry rank to acquire auto insurance with USAA. If I was a Sgt. (E-5) or below I could not join. That is no longer the case. Having investigated traffic collisions with military members I see the auto insurance they have when collecting the information for my collision report. Many low ranking enlisted members (E-1 - E-3) have been involved in collisions around Camp Pendleton (USMC base). I bring this up because when I have spoken with the USAA representative about the auto insurance rates not being competitive with other insurance providers they have been telling me they have had an excessive amount of payouts for traffic collisions. My F90 M5 has increased $98 a year since last year, I am not complaining but it is a increase my other 3 vehicles insurance premiums have remained the same.

Two other auto insurance companies (Connect / CostCo, Wawanesa) have lower rates for my M5. Connect is around $530 every 6 months and Wawanesa was $689 every 6 months.

I do miss my C6 Z06.

I'm paying 1100+ per 6 months on my F80. I am not very hopeful about getting any discounts with the additional safety features in G80.

I think your coverage is off, tbh. $1m coverage is very inefficient, as is a $500 deductible. You should drop coverage to the minimum required for an umbrella policy (normally $250k-ish) and pick up an umbrella policy for a few million, which will cost next to nothing. Also think about at what level you really want to he making a claim - for me, insurance is really about covering something pretty major, so I tend to have deductibles at the highest level (minimum $2k or something) on the basis I have no desire to be claiming for $501.

If you did that I suspect your premiums would go down by a ton

That's an interesting take. I did not really think about it like that. Generally if it was hundreds or even a couple thousand to fix something I wouldn't be concerned to pay out of pocket. Although my deductible is $500. My rate is already really low but this is something I might consider as well. Thanks!

For anyone in SoCal, Mercury quoted me $172 per month for a 21 M3 Comp with a $500 deductible for both comp/collision. $125 per month with a $500 deductible for comp and $2,500 for collision. I have two non faults claims so maybe that makes a difference.

My insurance company has not given me a price yet. Said they have to "manually rate" it.

Looks like my policy would go up by $130 for 6 months going from 2018 M3 to 2021. That's about $20/mo more.

I'm 40 and have a clean driving record, no claims & no tickets. I specified that the M3 is for "pleasure" and I'll drive 5k miles per year which is realistic for me.

That's a bump of $103 per month over my 2014 F30 335i and to be honest I was expecting closer to half that increase

I also jump between Geico & Progressive every couple of years as they increase their prices and you get a better offer when you switch. I guess I'll be doing more insurance shopping when I'm ready to pick up my G80.
I just sold my F82 and bought a G82. I have it insured through Geico. My insurance is about $110 more on the G82 compared to F82 every 6 months.

I would think I'm as good as I could be with usaa. Have my house, two cars with them. Single middle-aged driver clean record, no accidents, both cars are new in good shape with safety features and tracking, etc. $1,000 deductible. I've been with them for about 30 years now. Yet I'm still not getting some of the low rates that I'm seeing on here. I think I was still up in the 1500 a year range last I looked. Are rates negotiable?
I got quoted $220 a month with Geico which I think not bad given I don't have a long driving history in the US.

It was half the price of progressive and some of the others who were quoting nearly $4k per year!

USAA for 49 years. Rate from my '18 Corvette went up ~ $260 for six months. Officers/former officers get the premium rate, since they opened it up to Enlisted. Also have a 20% over ACV if totaled, same as the Vette. They have gone down hill over the past 10 years or so, but still the best around. Just not what they once were. As to Enlisted men, I flew F-4 Phantoms in SEA. The enlisted guys made sure I'd bring the plane back. They would have been pissed if I ruined "their plane..."

For anyone in the UK, Aviva are very "considerate". My existing Direct line policy upgraded to M3c went to £835.
Back to Aviva (who are brilliant as a company) as I left them 2 years ago when they hiked my DBS... And £445. No brained. Goes to BMW if worst happens too

That thing is an absolute BEAST!!!!

Buddy of mine just picked up a 2021 autobahn GTI.
